No, AntennaGate was an USA phenomena.

No it was not

It was less of an issue in europe because reception usualy is better so loosing reception affects it less, yet it was an issue every iphone 4 has.

Apple takes risks more than any other company of its kind. that is a fact.
Taking risk is welcoming troubles.
Like any big company its quite conservative. They are among the biggest they dont need to take risks.

That antenna still is unique/revolutionary if you want, obviously they didn’t get it right at first attempt, but you cannot ignore that other phones did have the same problem in the USA. Which is also a fact.
Only if you actually believe the apple PR, wich was mainly made up of focusing on another problem to hide the iphone 4 problem.

No As this is unique (and patented) no other smartphone uses this design so no other iphone has this particular issue.

Apple focused on ANOTHER problem, blocking antenna's with large masses (like you hand) by gripping it thighly (as if people actuall use phones like that)

There were plenty of factual evidences, Apple even posted videos on their site.
Of both problems there are factual evidences yes, but the iphone 4 is unique as in that you can seriously hamper reception by just holding a finger or paperclip at its lower left side and bridging that gap, no other smartphone has that.

AntennaGate was a fabrication of lazy journalists.
BS it was a design mistake, and as said apple never admitted that, on the contrary they burried it under poiting at others and free bumpers.

Please stop this nonsense. Normal people?
In real world that word means nothing!
But perhaps that is the main difference between Apple haters and those who love apple way of thinking.
Normalization is a generalization, while most of us who love apple way of thinking despise that word - generalization, because it is laziness.
:)
Funny tha camps you devide the world in apple haters or lovers, while in reality most people dont care they buy the phone they like be it apple samsung or zte .

Btw: most people do have a problem with the percieved superiority apple user give themselves. Just like you do now.

The physics ad just annoyed me, "How can something become smaller and bigger?"

Gee I wonder, I bet if I squished this ball of dough it would get thinner whilst getting bigger too.

After the extremely obnoxious ads they were running for the iPhone ("If you don't have an iPhone, well, you don't have an iPhone"), and the terrible Genius ads they ran a month ago, these are a welcome return to form. Reminiscent of the original iPhone ads they ran before they took a turn for the obnoxious.

And Jeff Daniels, always a good voiceover choice.

These ads are OK. Not Earth shattering but they do the job. The Panorama one is actually really good. Obviously tech types know about all the Panorama features that are already out there but it's true to say that no one has done it this well before - and that's the thing; it's better to do it right than to do it first.

And, as for those Samsung ads, well, they do the job of trying to make it seem uncool to like Apple products I guess, but the problem I have with them is in how dishonest they are.

When Apple ran the Mac vs PC ads they played the part of a cheeky underdog and that's what they were - the smaller player with the niche product that was different to the mainstream. They poked fun at the PC, not at PC users and they were good natured and light hearted - they didn't laugh at people. These Samsung GS3 ads are nasty - they betray a rather mean attitude. They attack people in a pretty classless way. It's the advert equivalent of the trolls who come here and call Apple users iSheep. It makes them look small minded.

The worst part, however, is Samsung trying to cast itself as the "alternative" choice - the phone for people who don't want to go with the crowd. Samsung is the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world and Android is by far the most widely used operating system on mobile devices, but they're trying to play the role of cheeky underdog the way Apple did in their Mac vs PC ads, and it doesn't sit right because it's a lie.

In the end, what matters is that people buy and enjoy the products that are right for them. I don't care if people think my choices are wrong - that's their prerogative. I wouldn't buy a Samsung phone, nor would I use Android because I dislike the business model of Android and the culture of Samsung. If the iPhone didn't exist I'd be a Nokia/Win Phone. Luckily that's not a problem right now.

You nailed it about Samsung. They're not the underdog. And I'll bet a lot of Samsung fans right now are fans because is the biggest challenge to Apple not because they really love Samsung products. Even though it could hurt Apple too I'd love HTC or Nokia to get out of the doldrums and become a legitimate alternative to Samsung.

As far as the Mav vs PC ads did they really sway that many people from MS to Apple? I can't see how Samsung thinks portraying people as mindless sheep is a good way to attract new customers. And one could ask, are all the millions who purchased a GS3 sheep too?

The "Thumbs" ad shows why Apple designed the iPhone 5 to be relatively small--that way, you can operate the phone with one hand. This is the legacy of the late Steve Jobs in perhaps the final Apple device to have direct influence during the design stage from him before he passed away (my guess is that the shape of the phone was pretty much decided shortly after Jobs' untimely passing).

Own merits

Samsung still burned Apple with this one:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf5-Prx19ZM

It's funny how everyone targets Apple in there adds to try & peddle there ****, could it be that Apples iPhone has been the best since its introduction! Like JD Powers rates it number one, based on owners overall satisfaction every year since its release! Samsung can't run an add for a phone on its own merits!
I've used a friends Galaxy S3 for a day to see if its what Samsung says it is?
It's a good phone but not close to the smooth slick iPhone & iOS!
My brother, a diehard anti iPhone guy has finally caved in and preordered iPhone 5. He's had every phone that was suppose to be the iPhone Killer including an S3 and he's a computer claims engineer at huge insurance co. that gets to try all different mobile devices! When he got his first iPad I figured he would finally see the light and then the iPad 3! I could finally see him cracking but pride was holding him back still, and then his son gave him up and told me he was planning to get iPhone 5!

He FaceTimed me last night on his new i5 and loves it, I asked him if he was ready for the "WTF took u so long" as well as "I've been telling u it's the best since 2007!!! I could go on about how many people I know that have done nothing but say iPhones are no good and every single one of them are carrying iPhones now saying how great they are!!!
My father is the last of the hold outs, but he's showing signs of
cracking:confused:apple::cool:

We all have a lot of fun talking **** about what's the best, without getting nasty serious. Bottom line is every phone & tablet maker are chasing Apple! Hence the targeted commercials and this one seems like a remake of what they did last year or I'm having Déjà vu:cool::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

Is there a website with ALL of Apple's ads? (also the pulled ones, like the Olympic ads, although those were horrible)
As in in high quality (HD if applicable) and maybe even RSS to subscribe to it?

I know there are sites that claim they have all, but they really don't or are out of date...
That's all Google gave me on a quick search

Thanks in advance!

Apple commercials

They're awesome like always!
The one about the thumbs, is all about the samsung sheep plastic smartphone, that thinks because it's bigger is better...
"The hard part is to make it smaller, not to make it bigger...":D

Can't wait to put my hands on mine!

The audience for these is ads is everyone and that in mind it's a very good set of ads with very clear messages. They're not overly upbeat but they are very confident in their "these are the facts, plain and simple" tone. A nice contrast to Samsung's recent ads.

Good ads, but they aren't great ads. They almost come off as pretentious.

Let us see...

.new Prius plugin hybrid
.new monthly pair of sneakers
.new polo shirt
.new MacBook Pro retina
.new iPhone 5 to go along

Why would you call me pretentious?

Compared with the number of countries it was sold, It was an USA mainly problem. And its popularity proves it.

You are shooting all over the place and even shoot your own feet.
iPhone antenna is revolutionary, it was risky to do because no one ever did it, it was risky, period.
Mistake or not it is irrelevant, the risk/courage/innovative spirit behind it - IS to prize.
Apple is the most risk-taker company on its field, that is a fact.

The current antenna is improved from the previous, which is a natural progression. An obvious thing.

Btw: most people do have a problem with the percieved superiority apple user give themselves. Just like you do now.

OH!, percieved superiority is in the head of the Apple-hater.
If you accept the free will of others, you will be free!

----------

These ads are OK.

They are a little too downbeat for me.
And they lack 'rhythm'.

But they're OK.

Please, lack rhythm, can you explain that?
Even inanimate objects have rhythm.

...

Btw: most people do have a problem with the percieved superiority apple user give themselves. Just like you do now.

When a person uses an iPhone, that person realizes how idiotic it is to purchase any thing else, and that makes a person feel good and not give a crap... which folks like you do perceive as 'superiority'.

I became an apple fan, because apple treats me special!
It feels great to have someone tell you how special you are and we have just the right product for you!

Other companies say, here is our crappy product, now give me my money and get lost! :(

I agree and stoked they were able to enlarge screen without getting into "Phablet" size phone. It's so comfortable in your hand just like the 4S and I would have still been happy with same size as the 4S. I really liked i4 & 4s, the design & quality is still better then any phone out there! The iPhone 5 is awesome, blazing fast and the screen is bitchen with keeping phone size, just a tad taller that I don't notice when holding or in pocket! But the impact of the screen is just Awesome!
S.J was involved with iPhone 5 prior to his passing (RIP). Btw read his book if you haven't its a great book.:apple:!!!

Exactly, everyone is always trying to say how bad Apple is, how bad iPhone is, but they're the same people that compare everything to Apple & iPhone, iPad, iMac & MacBook Pro! Apples making the best products so people try & say they are better always with reference to Apple!!!
Very flattering:cool::apple::apple::apple:

The last video reminded me how much I'm excited to have the headphone jack on the bottom. Now in my car I can charge my iPhone and listen music through my stereo.. and have both cables side by side instead of one out of each end!

So true!!! Apple sets the bar for everyone! :apple:
Not just products, but services as well!

Thumbs was good...but I'll say I'm still getting used to this stretched screen and part of me still feels the size of the 4/4s was already perfect. The commercial is good though, but the 4/4s also matched it.

Physics is the most obnoxious/stupid of the bunch.

Finally, once again

Apple finally did a perfect series of TV ads. It has been too long since they got it right, but these embody their product while noticing other competitors flaws, but not showing that they care enough to mention outloud. Great, classy, Apple.

Very great ads! I loved the thumbs one. Hilarious without mentioning competitors.
