The apple website says the magsafe is compatible to iPhone 8 and later

That was always obvious given the 8 was the first model with the hardware for Qi wireless charging, so just needs a MagSafe case.

Just chatted with Apple about the leather cases, they said give it a couple hours for the site to update? Not everything is updated I guess....

Hmm looks like it will be easier to make my own case. The half sized card style should be easy. A full sized one will not need to be quite as precisely contoured to the sides as in the past.

With MagSafe, the new line of cases will automatically snap onto the back of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, making for super easy application.

Thank goodness, I've always found installing a case to be unnecessarily difficult... /s

I believe weak magnets can ruin cards after a while...

I don't get it. It's much easier to just lay the iPhone on some random wireless charger, than sticking a magnet to it... perhaps in the car it makes sense but otherwise I don't see the point.

MagSafe Charger, Leather Wallet with MagSafe, and iPhone 12 Pro Silicone Case and Clear Case will be available beginning Friday, October 16. iPhone 12 Pro Leather Case will be available beginning Friday, November 6. MagSafe Duo Charger and Leather Sleeve will be available at a later date.
