indeed. Th street price is just a bit lower, so a good price from Apple. However, this is not the case for the hard drive. That seems to be correct. However, $200 for 16GB is a good deal.
Where do you find legal downloads of BD-quality 1080p movies?
Sucks that I bought a maxed-out top-of-the-line MacBook Pro just 15 days ago.

You're kidding right? Kat.ph, extratorrent.com, piratebay.com
These are torrent websites. Download bittorrent and then just go to one of these sites and search "[movie name] bluray"
I'll only be using my new laptop for programming and surfing the web, perhaps a few video games.. the debate between $1099 for the new 13" MBP vs $2000 for the new MBRetina seems kinda simple especially since I won't be dealing with any photography which really requires Retina display.
I am a sucker for a new design though, I want it..
P.S. those are student discount prices
DDR3L ram onboard, does that mean we cant upgrade on our own with third party ram?
I am afraid. And same thing for the SSD. No place for a 2nd HDD for music and pictures
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Apple is contributing to the high tax but I'm also sure the government is the one who is taking the majority of it. The government knows that these are hot items and tax the hell out of them, knowing that people will still purchase them.
It's a damn shame!!!
That seems to be correct. However, $200 for 16GB is a good deal.
It seems new laptops will use a Magsafe 2 connector...

Why have you been down voted for this? I found this hilarious![]()
I guess my question is: how much did you think it was going to be?
A standard MBP 15 base model is ~$1800 (USD), an upgraded 8GB is $2200, this is an entirely new chassis, with dual TB ports, the +brand+ new display technology, SSD, etc., for $2200. if anything Im surprised its not a little more than the upgraded non-retina 15 (more like 2300-2400).
I think there will be a number of folks who would like the larger SSD but who dont want to pay the premium for the CPU upgrade (like a $2499 512GB, 2.3Ghz model).
it got some speed bumps... it did NOT get thunderbolt or even USB 3.0. What the heck? Even the graphics cards are old.
sigh. writing is on the wall. RIP
Same here bro, I honestly don't think I need the retina display, because i'm not a photographer or video editor. I use it mainly for movies and a lot of college work. My 13" MBP has sufficed for that, but damn I want that retina display so bad!!
Looks like the RAM is soldered so...no.
