I am a little surprised the leather folio case is $100. Even for Apple that seems like a huge markup. Who in their right mind spends $100 on a case? We have lots of Apple products in our house, I'm a big Apple person, but this just seems crazy to me lol.

I don't understand the appeal of having this as a color, since most everyone uses a case and can just get a red case. I like that it supports [RED] but other than that, what's the appeal?

You don't have to understand the appeal. Whether something is cosmetically appealing or worth the price is subjective. In other words, the people buying it "understand the appeal."

They actually listened to their customers and made the front black. And I see a reflection of the Mac Pro in the screen!

BLACK SCREEN I’M SHOOK!
I really hope they don’t release a Product (RED) iPhone X... currently have the Space Grey, but mannnnn if they release a (RED) i’ll Want it :( haha.

If Tim Cook was smart, he would have put an extra GB of DRAM into each of these new Red models !

There is a possibility that at least the Red iPhone 8 was bumped-up from 2 GB to 3 GB ... NO ONE should be surprised if that happened !

Negative. Lol. I waited for years for the OLED and I finally have it. Worth every penny (spent $350 less than retail on my 256 GB X).
OLED is the only thing I love about my iPhone X but that's about it. The LCD on the iPhone 8 is the most beautiful display I've ever seen anyway, so it's all good.

The wandering into the philosophical aspect of business practices and donations to charity is ambiguous.
......
Why fill the coffers of the governments more with revenue from products made (predominantly) overseas, when the money ends up more in the top 0.001% pockets or gets spent on more wars?

The Red product has a singular charity - places which need this small fraction of overall available charitable funds. Better than selling weapons to these nations indiscriminately, weapons they will never be able to manufacture.
I would imagine that a company that fully relies on western infra (schools, roadways, traffic, airfields, housing, water- / energy infra) should pay its fair share where it gets used by its employees and itself.
Because without these things, that company wouldn’t even exist.
Then secondly, it can choose to favor certain social or medical purposes, like Product (RED) does.
That’s the ordinal sequence - no the other one around.
Especially where the abundance of money is stellar - any other sequence is selective benefication (which indeed is still better than no benefication at all...) but becomes a substitute/payoff, sadly.

Get your head out of ass.
Even with that handicap, I made my point clear.
Waiting for your contribution beyond the “moo” and “quack” level...

Except they do. Another utterly stupid comment.

Interesting.

The OLED screen in my X is the only thing I dislike about the phone. Was seriously thinking of returning it during the initial two week period.

I just can't understand why there is no Product Red iPhone X? Damn it!
Maybe Apple is waiting until June to release the Product Red iPhone X for that third quarter/summer boost? Tim will be like here’s the blush gold and Product Red colors you wanted, just ignore that we’re three months away from releasing this year’s iPhones, including the 6.1” LCD iPhone that looks like the X with FaceID.

Do you have any contribution beyond the “moo” and “quack” level..?

You do know the US is the only country in the world that thinks fair share of taxes means taxing them on things made overseas and sold overseas.

If Apple is smart they’ll hold off on offering Product Red and blush gold on the X until they release the 10s/10s Plus in September. I’m assuming the X will be discontinued so it doesn’t torpedo 10s sales.

I’m assuming the X will be discountinued because OLED aren’t cheap and not as plentiful as some people here seem to believe.

That didn't answer my question: Why should I care about AIDS in AFRICA over people with AIDS in AMERICA?
It's so it eradicates the disease ( I believe it started in Africa) so that it DOESN'T continue to spread to America as well as other countries. It's called containment. DUH!

Ah. You must have gotten your MBA here - having missed 5 years of news.
Please do NOT to google “Apple tax avoidance” - and stay in your comfortzone

It's a shame these aren't offered closer to the initial release of the models.

I'd imagine a huge share of those who were keen to upgrade to the 8 generation has already done so and is now not in the market for one of these, which look great & help out the great cause.

The + size has 3GB inside!

Not in quantities Apple would need to move to oled completely.

Exactly. Imagine if Apple suddenly needed 170m OLED from October through October. That’s pretty much all of them, if there are even that many made at this point.
