Yea I agree with everyone here, the black front looks much better. I have the X and use cases though so no real reason for me to buy. Looking forward to September.

I think these phones look great. I don't understand why Apple would make someone wait 7 months after the new model comes out to get a red version. I feel like a lot of people would be happy to support the cause and buy red models if they were available at the same time as the new release. I know I would.

Maybe they don’t want to lose that 5% or whatever they donate from the initial launch rush, but from slower mid-to-late season sales they’re ok with it.

I don't understand the appeal of having this as a color, since most everyone uses a case and can just get a red case. I like that it supports [RED] but other than that, what's the appeal?

There's plenty of transparent or semi-transparent cases. Or wallet cases that show at least all the sides. Or many people going naked or just with a sleeve (like me with my X).

For Apple, ProductRed = ProductDead. It's a cheap way to excite customers about a product well into its sales cycle and pluck new sales. In other words, Apple doesn't need or want to use it's entire cache at launch so it holds this one out for when sales get sluggish. Nothing any company does is for consumer's convenience. It's to bolster its bottom line.

Curious. Why are you clamoring for a wireless charger? It's not like it's anything special. It's a wireless charger with multiple coils.

A lot of people go caseless, but even for those who uses cases there are a lot of clear cases & skins out there

It's just a marketing scheme to get people interested in the iPhone and help boost sales post-refresh.
