Apple Introduces 'The New iPad' with Retina Display, A5X Chip, LTE, 5MP Rear Camera

Most Radio's Ever?

I'm excited by that comment about how many radio bands it supports. This may mean that the LTE model will support Verizon OR AT&T (and their associated 3G networks) so you won't have to choose just one.
 
Impressed! although for some reason im not as hyped to buy one now. Im thinking of sticking to iPad2.
 
Wonder how many people will go in to debt just to get this, or take out a silly loan at 5000% APR to pay for it.

Got to go, need to go get a loan for the NEW iPad.

How long on Friday before the "new" iPads will be at our doorstep if we choose to have it delivered?:confused:
 
Seriously unimpressed... No 128gb, heavier and less battery life if you use the new 4g feature.

As for 'new iPad'... Wow they must have stayed up all night on that one!

its same battery life with wifi and same battery life with 3g as the previous model
 
The website refers to it simply as "iPad". I think they have gone generic and will say the new iPad every time they have a new iPad. The sheer number of permutations with carriers, colors, capacities, and release years is getting dense.

They now have 2 iPad 2 wifi/3G in 2 colors, and, three iPad capacities, two colors, each for wifi/ATT 4G/Verizon 4G.

That's 4 SKU's on iPad 2 and 18 SKU's on iPad (2012).

It's not the "New iPad". It's just the iPad and it's new. Apple is trying to train us to stop using the numbering system.
 
what's in a name?

iPod will just be "iPod," iPhone will just be "iPhone, and iPad will now just be "iPad" - watch when iPhone 5 comes out - I bet it'll just be "iPhone"

So, what do we make of the "touch" comment on the invitation? Is there something about the new iPad that makes people want to touch it more than prior iPads? Sure, I understand that it looks better, but that doesn't explain the "touch" comment. I wonder if they held back on something today - that they changed their mind on launching something new since the invitation went out.

Good, I hope they drop the numbering system from the iPhone later this year too :)
