Because everything they hype in these ads is offscreen.

It's like they intentionally tried to make the most awful commercials they could.

Really...why would they talk up their stock apps so much and then not even show them?

looks like Apple is showing its character and why people love their products and services, rather then saying "LOOK! NEW! SHINY!"
I like these commercials a lot for that.

His wife's having a baby.
And he's more concerned about sending postcards and photos.

I think the Genius is more sane than the father...despite the fact that he wears his uniform and badge to sleep.

I like the basically one since I just built a hackintosh thats missing the sound card driver and crashes upon wake from sleep.

Didnt like the birth so much, any foto web service or PC lets you do the same thing.

Is it just me or are these the first commercials that didn't seem "Steve Jobs like?"

Came here to write the exact same thing. Definitely felt like the first deviation away from Jobs vision for the company. Disappointing.

Jobs specifically said for Apple not to think "What would Steve Do? and just do what is right. Jobs passed away quite a while ago now, if Apple continue to "follow him" and don't move on they will fall behind.

As Apple continues to evolve they need to leave their past behind and do what is right.

Exactly. The appeal of a Mac is that it's easy to use, it's for the everyday person. If they're so easy, why do they need 24hr genius support? What these ads say to me: Macs aren't easy to figure out, especially when you need them most.

Poor

Bad commercials, very tacky and seem desperate. They also should have at least used someone famous, they have the money!

I find the fake Mac commercial snobbish and completely off-mark. I don't know what Apple is trying to get at with that one, but it strikes me as being absolutely elitist.

The other two just...

Sigh. People these days xD

My only thought is… POOR GENIUSES…

It must be awful having to interact with such *******s all the day!

Bingo. I just can't believe they released these.

Oh well.

How un-Apple like. I was expecting the ending to say "Apple Geniuses - Now at Best Buy" or something. They're not terrible ads, but definately the worst of all time from this company. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Apple never used "famous" people in their ads until this year or so. Most ads don't have "famous" people in them. It's a waste to use famous people "just because they can afford it".

I kind of agree with you on the knockoff ad, it struck a weird tone with me. Didn't mind the other two, thought they were kind of cute. But just okay, not really that memorable. And why is the dude in bed at 4am with his work shirt and badge on?

It seems that most people have gotten too conditioned to how Apple usually makes their ads. These were different, but I liked them.

He's a Genius.
He has surpassed all human boundaries.
Including the needs for changing clothes and sleeping.

What are you talking about? Justin Long, hello?

And it is not a waste to use famous people to promote a product, have you been living under an advertising rock your whole life? Why do you think those crappy Beats headphones sell, it aint anything to do with mediocre quality, its marketing with Dre, Gaga, etc.

OMG, these ads suck. Horrible. So un-Apple like in the ad department. Especially for the Olympics. The first one I saw during the opening ceremony, I was thinking it was a spoof-Apple ad.

Oh well.

Exactly. I enjoyed the ads simply because Rey are new. They aren't too tacky and are cute and have a good charm. I think some people are just not a fan of change.
