Because everything they hype in these ads is offscreen.
It's like they intentionally tried to make the most awful commercials they could.
Really...why would they talk up their stock apps so much and then not even show them?

Is it just me or are these the first commercials that didn't seem "Steve Jobs like?"
Came here to write the exact same thing. Definitely felt like the first deviation away from Jobs vision for the company. Disappointing.
His wife's having a baby.
And he's more concerned about sending postcards and photos.
I think the Genius is more sane than the father...despite the fact that he wears his uniform and badge to sleep.
Am I the only one that wants one of those blue shirts?!
Exactly. The appeal of a Mac is that it's easy to use, it's for the everyday person. If they're so easy, why do they need 24hr genius support? What these ads say to me: Macs aren't easy to figure out, especially when you need them most.
Bad commercials, very tacky and seem desperate. They also should have at least used someone famous, they have the money!
I find the fake Mac commercial snobbish and completely off-mark. I don't know what Apple is trying to get at with that one, but it strikes me as being absolutely elitist.
I kind of agree with you on the knockoff ad, it struck a weird tone with me. Didn't mind the other two, thought they were kind of cute. But just okay, not really that memorable. And why is the dude in bed at 4am with his work shirt and badge on?
Apple never used "famous" people in their ads until this year or so. Most ads don't have "famous" people in them. It's a waste to use famous people "just because they can afford it".
Exactly. I enjoyed the ads simply because Rey are new. They aren't too tacky and are cute and have a good charm. I think some people are just not a fan of change. It seems that most people have gotten too conditioned to how Apple usually makes their ads. These were different, but I liked them.
How un-Apple like.
