Good for you.
I simply stopped buying Apple products just because they're Apple.
I was stuck in a constant upgrade cycle that is artificially controlled by Apple. That's BS.
I should have never bought an iPad 1. It did not have a front-facing camera. RAM was sorely lacking. It is an expensive paperweight now, while the iPad 2 I got is (somewhat) still usable.
The iPad Air cannot multitask like the Air 2 can. That is an important functionality.
iPhone 6 went through "bend-gate". The "S" version was far sturdier.
Everyone knew (other than Apple apologists) that the second-gen Apple watch would have it's most glaring ommission: waterproofing. Apps that open quickly.
The above forms a pattern. This is not news.
That's the most illogical and unlikely thing I have ever heard. Macrumors used to be pretty smart with reporting, too.Apple appears to have replacement iPhone 7 models reserved for these scenarios per standard policy.
Let's be honest; does anyone actually use cell service anymore?
I can't remember the last time I used my phone as a communication device.

Apple is aware of and investigating an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus issue that can result in the loss of cellular service after turning off Airplane Mode on the devices, according to internal documents obtained by MacRumors.![]()
In the meantime, Apple has advised authorized service providers to instruct customers to restart the affected iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. If no service persists, Apple advises customers to remove and re-insert the device's SIM card.
In a video shared with MacRumors by reader Yasser El-Haggan, an iPhone 7 can be seen with no service alongside an iPhone 6s with two bars of LTE after Airplane Mode is toggled off on both devices. Both of the iPhones are said to be AT&T models, which means the iPhone 7 has an Intel modem rather than a Qualcomm modem used for Verizon and Sprint models.
El-Haggan said he took his iPhone 7 to an Apple Store, where the Genius Bar swapped out the device with a new one. The employee had allegedly seen the issue on a few previous handsets, and he immediately replaced the device per Apple's instructions in lieu of running a basic diagnostic test. Apple appears to have replacement iPhone 7 models reserved for these scenarios per standard policy.

Same here with my iPhone 6 on IOS 10.This is an iOS10 issue, not just iPhone 7 series. I was out in the country this weekend and switched to airplane mode. I switched back when I got home, where I am very well connected, and 'No Service'. I finally rebooted the phone and it reconnected.
For the record, I have a 6s+ running iOS 10.
Occurred on my 6 & 6s running iOS 9 as wellYep, saw this yesterday on my 6S. Agree it seems to be an iOS10 problem rather than iPhone 7-specific...
Let's hope you don't need to call 911/emergency services. Just because you exhibit hermit crab like behaviour doesn't mean 99.9% of the world don't use their cellphone for cell service.
Um yes. Even so what difference does that make? It's still a fault. "Oh no one uses it as a phone anymore let's just leave it.
I've been having this issue ever since I was fiddling with my sim card password. I found as long as lte voice and data are turned on the problem disappears. 6s on ios 9 and 10.This is an iOS10 issue, not just iPhone 7 series. Hey! Look over there at something else besides what we're discussing. You serious?
Hey, let's count all the articles with Google investigating bugs on Android that happen in niche circumstances. Err... nope. Issues with signal after turning off Airplane mode? Restart the device, or don't turn on Airplane mode.
Let's count how many exploding phones Apple have released to the public...
And let's look at the support Apple offered when this happened, whilst there are people with Note 7s that have to hold off for weeks until they get a new one:
The only thing in the gutter for the last few years are these incessant "Apple are rubbish" comments on MR.
