No they won't have anything that big to show off. Tim Cook's apple is all bark no bite. People need to be ready for disappointment because if we've learned anything over the last few years is that you and depend on Tim Cook to deliver disappointment.

Tim Cook is certainly not the showman / salesman that Steve Jobs was, but I have never expected he would be. Steve's passion translated into showmanship and it was integral to who he was. He made people want things that we never thought we would want, or need.

And if you consider the fact that we're at the point where we're not going to see huge leaps/changes in design or computing power, screen quality, or battery life, every year or maybe even every 5 years, people wouldn't feel like they were disappointed when they didn't get what isn't possible.

Are you telling me you don't have the Apple Event Drinking Board Game!? Each time a magical word is spoken you drink a shot and roll the dice and move your Dongle that many spaces forward. You win by becoming a "Genius".

I guess I still have one dongle; the lightning to headphone jack one. So I guess I'm in.

Do I just ask Siri where I can get the board game?

I have lot of doubts about mac pro..and minis (not that I use minis)...but...
I just came across this a moment ago

Would you guys think that they might try to update everything to use this feature? I know there are others things to consider...but this one particular feature.

Edit: wait a minute...i think MP 2013 are able to do that, huh?

I`ve done that several times today so far, on my 13" MBA 2013, works fine , but is a little bit to slow imho.

Looks like they are releasing the same hardware but in new colors /s
I spent all of my spare cash on an overpriced Google Pixel XL. Now all I can afford is a cheap ChromeBook. Damn you Google! Oh wait, no that was just a really bad dream I had last night. I really shouldn't eat Nougat before going to bed.

My biggest fear, apples does to the MacBooks what it did to the Mac mini.....

At very worst the current models are still great machines, like the 2012 Mac mini

I remember watching the keynote in October 2008 for the Unibody MacBook Pro. That was my first Mac!

I remember watching the 2007 unveil of my iMac. That was the first and only (so far) computer that I bought myself. Every other computer I've ever used was a hand-me-down.

Obviously they dried out the complete product line, and the reference to "hello again" is a clear indication of a major change. They are at least resorting their whole hardware lines, likely reducing to a mobile and a stationary line (or even one that combines the two).

If they are completely nuts, they go ARM… they got the rumor mill running low pretty well.

Will be an interesting watch…

If they manage to launch a few watch bands also.... Tims the man!!

Correction, 1/3 of the event will be on the Nike Apple Watch bands

Expecting the base models to be £2000 + , thanks Brexit!!

Dell, HP, Acer, Sony, Lenovo and Asus will license macOS Sierra for approved designs by Apple. The partnership enables Apple to reach a wider segment of users who admire Apples software advances. We will continue to revise the MacBook Pro, but we see this as a new chapter to say Hello to hundreds of millions of new customers for the first time.

Did you just make that up or do you know something? I mean I wouldn't be surprised given how Apple has made everything except their Macs a priority lately and seem to be promoting the iPad Pro as a better alternative.

All I know is that there's something else to be released other than macs, I think updated time capsules and airport base stations.

Well, this is their 40th year, hope the reason they synced all their aging Mac line so it could be updated all at once for one holy-shieett-fak kind of update

But, the event is most likely just to confirm that the Nike branded Apple Watch is launching the day after the event

I hope the Thunderbolt Display replacement does not have an intergraded GPU , it will be silly expansive .

"announcing the brand new macbrook pro with the latest 2015 skylake chips, now comes with 64gb of internal storage to save storage space"
Except the Iris Pro Skylake chips just started shipping in large quantities over the summer. Kaby Lake is available but only if you want a Core M-based MacBook Pro.

Maybe the displays are gone but there are also indications it may come back.

MacRumors has been beating that drum, but it's unheard of. It would be the first time Apple has ever revived a product line. They always keep things going until they can announce a replacement. They have done this with many things. I also noticed it never followed the imac's design lead in 2012. Anyway I think it's gone for good based on all other similar examples and no real rumors to suggest otherwise aside from one about an embedded gpu months ago. The embedded gpu concept is a stupid idea in itself. Displays already have some built in graphics processing. Allowing it to handle any of the lifting work for games or whatever else is a huge mismatch, because displays are updated at a slower rate than gpus. You only see significant display updates 2-3 times per decade.
