I'm not necessarily against this OLED strip, but it'd be a lot better if the whole screen were OLED (maybe only high-end models because I assume it'd cost more, but if they can make 65" OLED tvs for under $2,500, a 15" screen should be possible).

Looking forward to the MacBook Pro refresh and Apple taking my money. :)

I wonder if I should camp out at the Apple Store and watch the event there.

October 27... Tim comes out on stage. I'm sorry everyone. Our calendars were flipped to the wrong page. We thought this was April 1st. We apologize for the inconvenience. As a thank you for your attendance, please pick up a free watch band as you leave the building.

I may be in the minority here but I am cool with Apple breaking ground with USB-C. It might not be (even close) to the industry standard right now, but is there any doubt that it's better than USB-A? My only gripe is all the dongles that will be necessary in the near future, but 2 years from now I think that I'll be happy that I have a bunch of USB-C ports. The industry will eventually follow. We're the early adopters.

Oh finally. I have been waiting so long. my 2010 MacBook pro is crying out for an update. Hopefully my simple wishlist is fulfilled.
1- Black/space grey
2-battery life in the double digits for the 15 inch model
3- smaller bezels
4-the 15" model weigh's around 4lbs while attaining the latest chipsets from intel and AMD/Nvidia
5- addition of new ports (usb 3.1/thunderbolt 3) while retaining old useful ones (magsafe,HDMI,SD cardslot and headphone jack)

(in reality as long as there is a black model i am pretty much going to buy it)

OMG!!! I don't even like that song and am tired of all the Apple 'bashing', but best post of the day. This totally made my day :D

or what about... Hello again, from Neil Diamond. haha
Hello again, hello
I just called to say hello....

"Hello again" is something that's said when it's been a long while.

It's like they're taunting the consumer now.

...just go buy a Lenovo Yoga 910...just like I'm thinking about. This has gotten ridiculous.

I agree....except I have two fairly new Thunderbolt drives, and I think Apple needs to make provisions, because they are the people who essentially cajoled us into buying those, two.

I will flip out if the battery life is same as the current gen mbps.

At least a 1 hour bump is a must

IT'S LIT!!!

"hello again" = New Macs!

Colorful Apple-logo = MacBook Pro in different colors.

Simple! :)

orrrrr the colors represent color poofs which equals ink which equals their bringing back the Laser Printer but in color this time.... hello again!

That USB-C will just be magical... and that high end glossy finish, which we just call 'jet black' looks just stunning on the existing 2011 mac mini line.

"announcing the brand new macbrook pro with the latest 2015 skylake chips, now comes with 64gb of internal storage to save storage space"

It will be so light and thin, it will just be magical in your backpack and bend while using the new trackpad, we simply call 'force touch'.

Yeah I can't argue with you there. This would represent a pretty abrupt switch. I don't consider it out of the realm of possibility that Apple will provide some free dongles/adapters, especially a USB-C to Thunderbolt and USB-C to MagSafe considering Apple basically pioneered both.

While I was initially upset when I heard that they might switch to all USB-C, I realize that I don't regularly connect anything to my MBP other than my power adapter, the occasional USB device, and an SD Card once a month or so. I can deal with that. I imagine that most people who regularly use non-USB-C devices do so at home or work so while the dongles may be inelegant it shouldn't be too much of a hassle for most people.
