Here's Razer's newly released Razer Blade:

Keep in mind this is utilizing a 14" screen. This new Razer Blade incorporates a Quad-core CPU and Nvidia's latest GTX1060 GPU, all in a form-factor that's smaller than the 15" MBP. So if Razer can do it, definitely Apple should be able to do it.

very interesting. funny how it even looks like a macbook. only sad part is, nvidia and apple have not played nice together for quite some time now (still no *real* 7xx or better support) and i dont think AMD's mobile offerings are as competitive in that regard. but its nice to see somebody is making it happen, and hopefully, you're right.

Yes, you really are confused. USB-C is a connection. USB3 is a protocol. What you want is a USB-A port so you can use legacy hardware without a dongle.

I think you need to be prepared for the fact you are not going to get it.

I think you need to be prepared for the fact you may not be as smart as you think. :)
An USB-A port on about any Laptop/PC sold in the last several years is commonly simply referred to as USB3 or USB2.
Im not saying you`re wrong but if your goal was to appear smart: You failed. Hard.

Have a nice day!

So will apple supply us all with USB-c to lightning cables so we can connect our iPhone and iPads?

Nope. Does the Retina MacBook currently provide iPhone customers with free Lightning to USB-C cables? I'm sure Apple has found that most people charge their phones in the car, on docks, off the cube charger, and PCs at work. And keep in mind that Apple sells less than 6 million Macs a year. They sell over 200 million iPhones a year. It makes absolutely no sense to sell the iPhone with a USB-C cable when the vast majority of it's customers are using USB-A.

Thank you, I will have a nice day. I am as confident in my intelligence as I am in yours. And no one (correctly) refers to the USB-A port as USB3 or USB2, they are referring to the protocol supported by the computer. Until the advent USB-C connector there was no need to explain that you had USB3 through a USB-A port. By-the-way, there are PC manufacturers selling laptops with USB-C ports that only support the USB2 protocol, so people are going to need to start paying attention.

Geez Tim, Why'd you bother to keep the headphone jack?

Looks like i'll have to buy 3 or 4 adapters, night as well buy 5.

Dongles are such an elegant solution. Computer gets thinner, pile of cables gets fatter.
