Praise The Lord!!!i

Dude, i am SOOO glad to hear that new macbooks are coming out next week. My very old ibook g4 died last month and its be torture not having a mac. Im using an OLD win2k machine that im borrowing from my church and it SUCKS!

Ahhhh!!! My 2 yr. old MacBook is starting to die and I have no space on my hard drive left...these are coming out at the perfect time. I'm so glad focus is going to be brought back to the computers instead of iPods/iPhones.

Normally I would wait but seeing as how my 2 yr old MBP will fetch $1000 on ebay ...

That's one thing that you don't hear alot in the PC vs Mac debate. A 2 yr old Mac has an extremely high resale value. Heck even a 4 or 5 yr old Mac will fetch a nice price. Try selling a 5 yr old Dell anything for more than $100.

That $1000 has just become $800, and if we see a re-design, it could even become $650-$700 in a weeks time. That's why I took a gamble and sold my 2 year old Whitebook for $1150 almost a month ago. The wait has been paiiiinful though!

If you plan on getting a new MBP I'd put that baby on Ebay now. Otherwise the price will plummet after this event.

Briefly, but I reckon they'll go up again after the refurb stock (which tends to be very good value) has ran out.

Apple stuff holds its value surprisingly well on eBay, even the G4 Mac Minis are only like £100 ($200) less than a brand new Intel one.

I hate You.. I hate You.. ::mad:: mad

Came across this on tinypic. It'd be sweet if they had this basic look to them.

NNNooooooo! Nonono..!

Anyone wants my MBP 17" 2.5Ghz Penryn?? please.. please.. $2,900 (I bought it $3,200 on May2008) still shiny and no scratch! BTO 4Gigs RAM, hi-res LED screen 7200rpm HDD) I'll give You iPod Nano 8Gigs as a bonus?

:D  :(

If that's the new MBP, nicely done! I lloovee it.
Now is the time to regret  really!

Where did you manage to get $1150 for a 2 year old Whitebook ?

I am Iron Man! YEAAAA! Everybody celebrate this news with me!!!!!!! Not the news about the laptops, that would be lame. Celebrate that I'm Iron Man.

Please note that I will, from this point onward, assume that you are cheering for me being Iron Man.

2nd Take

Well basically as long as they lower the standard MacBook to at least 800$ I'm fine. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up :)

im so lucky, phew before i started really reading into all the rumors about new macbooks and checking the mac buyers guide, i was literally seconds away from spending 900 dollars on a macbook about a month ago. SO GLAD i didnt pull the trigger on that one. Come on October 14th, come faster please

Oh yeahhhhh! Perhaps I shall consider temporarily releasing my credit card from it's sock drawer prison, for I covet a mysterious new MacBook

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but yesterday I discovered that on the Online Apple Store, there are hidden "new" icons next to the Macbook and Macbook Pro. If you go specifically to one of the computer pages, such as for the Macbook Pro and view the source code, look for "new.png". The icon that appears next to both of these products contain a stylesheet class called "new-icon", which as defined by the external stylesheet "aos-family.css" includes the style "display:none" which is why your browser does not show the icon yet. The "new" icon is ready and waiting to be turned on by removing or overriding this one line of code! Those who know how to turn styles off in their browser (Firebug is my best friend) can see the icon appear, it is the same one that currently appears next to the iPods.
I don't think its for the new macbook pro. Its for this:
Even higher performance.

"The new, blazing Intel Core 2 Duo processors run at speeds up to 2.6 GHz. Learn more." There is a "new" icon there.

I forgot something...

ONE MORE THING...

Steve Jobs: So, new MacBooks... And what about this little guy (shows the Mac Mini)

-Crowd goes wild-

SJ: We´re today replacing the Mac Mini (awkward silence) with this bad boy (MacBook).

-Crowd goes wild again-

SJ: But, if I already show you the prices! And the specs! Well, this MacBook is going to cost $799 (OMG!) with this specs (shows specs in Keynote).

Now you don´t have any excuses to be a Mac.

So that´s it for today, have a great afternoon.
