i have a proposal to in busy threads like this one have an option to hide all of the newbie posts so that they aren't so cluttered
i can't possibly read 1000 posts and stay sain

the more ports and better screen is not worth 800-1000 bucks in my opinion...
if they dont differ more between the lines i switch to a simple mb

ditto i hate the green button as well... why cant get full screen... --_---

There's gotta be something else to differentiate unless its just going to be dedicated GPU....or they'll get rid of the 2 model system and just go with one MacBook line 13/15/17"

The backlit keypad is always nice but just one of those bells & whistles. The MacBook is going to take a major step up w/ the aluminum shell & possibly the Nvidia built in.

Do not bother trying to read the entire thread. The first 10 pages are all omgggg yayyyyy I want to make sweet sweet love with steve jobs.;)

Pretty much. I've actually read every post in this thread (recovering from surgery so what else is there to do while I sit on my ass?) and I've been surprised how many of the newbie posts in this thread have pointed out the posters are going to finally be buying their first Mac.

Perhaps the windows campaign was a fail :D

Actually, the backlit keyboard is one of the features I use the most. I am typing in the livingroom with the lights turned out watching tv and it is nice to see the letters on the keyboard.

Another thing, does everyone really like the chicklet keyboard over the existing mpb? I have both and really like the way the keys feel on the mbp, how you can feel the dip in the keys and don't feel the gaps between them. When I use the alum keyboard at work I just don't like the feel.

I never look at my keyboard while I type and have no need for an illuminated keyboard. Also, I love the chicklet keyboards—I make less typos with them.
