I wasn't referring to a "one more thing." I meant that the true laptop would be revealed, and that the notebook we see on the invite is not the exact notebook that would be revealed. Not saying that I'm for sure, just that it's possible the spotlight is shining on a "curtain" that would be pulled back to reveal a new notebook that's not necessarily what we see on the invite.

Not saying that I'm for sure, just that it's possible the spotlight is shining on a "curtain" that would be pulled back to reveal a new notebook that's not necessarily what we see on the invite.
x2, dual HDD would be very nice indeed. Make the stupid optical drive optional, with the ability to put a second HDD in its place. Folks like myself who do any serious CD/DVD disc work use an external firewire burner anyways.
I wish that the brick term means that we can put the bricks together like lego bricks to assemble our desired configuration inside the nice aluminum case.
So you decide if you want 2 HDD or 1HDD + flash or 1HDD + BlueRay , etc...
From what ive been hearing snow leopard should actually run better than leopard as its supposed to utilize multicores better as well as other components.

46 pages and counting of pent up anticipation and demand. I've been waiting and "peeling my skin off" in anticipation since March.
Its almost surreal now that its happening!
Stoked that its going to be an media event - obviously something significant.
It ain't no speed bump.
No much word on the touch trackpad though. I wonder if we'll see this or have to wait ...

With the pent up demand for this thing it will be interesting to see how they cope with the initial demand. It could be a demand hole that takes some filling !

Wouldn't that just suck if on Oct.14 the only announcement will be Steve Jobs saying Apple will only sell iPods from now on. I can see it happening.
Considering that iPod sales have been leveling off and Apple laptop sales have been growing more rapidly than the rest of the market... I have a pretty hard time seeing that happening.
But yes, it would suck.

What I want:
13" MB w/ either dedicated graphics card (not likely) or improved integrated, LED display, and FIREWIRE PORT! DO NOT take away firewire from the MB computers. The current MBs have enough power to do simple video editing, which is all I do. Almost all mini-dv camcorders transfer through firewire and I don't want to spend the extra money for a pro machine when I'm not really a "pro" user. Apple touts iLife as this tool for everyone and if they take firewire away from the MB models and make it a pro only option, iMovie is no longer a tool for everyone.
I also don't want the larger display. I have a 22" external for that.

I agree with the firewire. I havent been able to actually use anything that uses it yet but from what ive read its superior to usb in terms of sustained speeds. Cant wait to get my feet wet in the mac world
I keep being surprised by this statement. I've got one, a panasonic, that's seems a good model but doesn't use firewire. Just USB2.0. I'm not convinced that its that uncommon either with DV camcorders.
I think you guys might have to get over your need for this, especially in consumer level machines.

yea ive been hearing this rumor for a while too. It doesnt mean all plastic, just the back of the screen, which, if apple does it right, i wouldnt mind THAT much vs aluminum. At least id be guarenteed that ill get decent wifi (tho i fully trust apple to have figured something out with aluminum anyway)
I dont really trust 9to5 that much anymore tho. The convienantly deleted their post about how no announcement was made so there deffinatly wouldnt be an update. then they said they never doubted it in the first place
