I spend more time reading these threads than I do posting. MacRumors is actually the first forum that I've ever joined. Guess my newbie title is fitting. With that said anyone have the does and the don'ts to forum etiquette. I've never followed blogs either. MacRumors and a few YouTube "vlogs" are my first. All tips are welcome!

Welcome.
Basically, just mindlessly add "gate" to the end of anything. And you'll be fine.

It's been way too long since we started talking about TV. Introducing the :apple: Television. Yes, you can control it with your :apple: watch. Available Fall, 2016.

Steer well clear of reasoned, logical and objective argument and you should be just fine.

Way too long using the 'i' brand. We've already got Apple Pay, Apple Watch, Apple TV. Time for Apple Mac, Apple MacBook Pro, Apple Pad, etc.

It's been way too long ... since Apple introduced a compact phone for those who have regular front pockets. Apple will pre-announce the iPhone Mini, the size of an iPhone 4 with a battery thicker than on the iPhone 6 and no camera sticking out of the device. Release date: October 2016 as part of the iPhone 7 series.

they will say it been way to long to be able to have a stamp of approval on everything.. then USPS will come out with a apple Postage stamp.... :D

"It's been way too long." yea for Mac mini, ipod, retina iMacs and Mac airs, and Thunderbolt display updates that is.

Agree, this could be the "biggest" year for sales in Apple's history. Iphone 6 and 6 plus and the rest of their categories all updated at the same time....

Eddie Cue "may" have been correct in his statement back earlier this year about "best year he has seen since he has been with apple" etc.

I am guessing a redesigned Mac mini.....:apple: also....

To funny, but oh so true......

I've recently become an Apple Fanatic (within past few years). And I normally fork over all of my money immediately.

Since I have bought the iPad 3. I've changed my strategy. I've been holding out following all of the announcements and rumors and now I have all this cash waiting to be spent on...

27" iMac Retina
iPhone 6s Plus (don't think i can wait that long may buy the 6 plus)
Updated Apple TV
iPad Air 2

I've been loyal to apple since my original iPhone.

I've got to ask... what is your interest in the iPhone 6? Hardware and spec wise its so similar to the 5s. Is it just the bigger screen size? What do you do on it where you want a bigger screen at the expense of pocket / walking comfort and 1 handed use?

The biggest bump in hardware capability between the iPhone 6 and 5s is the GPU. And in the GPU benchmark below you can see its a MUCH smaller jump than we typically see in a new iPhone launch. Which is made even more surprising because its got the advantage of a much bigger case and battery to fit in more powerful hardware. For what you are paying, it just seems like a rip off.

Tom's hardware has a more detailed comparison and the 5s screen is much much much better color accuracy, better speakers, better GPU performance for open GL applications. And those are just the objective measurements. This is personal but for me at least the size of the iPhone 6 is off-putting. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/iphone-6-benchmark-results,news-19584.html

I'm curious to hear your thoughts and opinions... but say you really wanted a large screen phone. When the 5s was released it beat out the Galaxy Note 2 in most benchmarks. Think about that, the smallest smart phone, beating out the largest smart phone (not released at same time but co-existing in the same generation). I would expect the iPhone 6 to trounce the Note 4, but it doesn't even come close to the Note 3! To buy the iPhone 6 I would just feel like i got scammed! The wait for a 6s if you want the bigger phone seems like such a no brainer to me. Again, let me know your thoughts, I am not meaning to sound like a git ; )

would they really use that tagline for a product which hasn't been updated in a while?

"holy crap, it's been such a loong time since we've payed attention to X product"

dunno, I'm thinking it means something else.

The only thing I can decipher from that invite is that they're talking specifically about the Mac. The resemblance of the old coloured Apple logo in that logo outline would suggest macs too :) either that or a new Apple Newton!!!

Scott Forstall's has been gone "way too long"

It means....Scott Forstall's been gone "way too long"
welcome back Scott....Ivy is out!!:D

Of Course

It's Been Way Too Long

This one is easy. It will be an Apple TV.

I'm so confident that I'm right I'm selling my unlock Apple TV version 2 today so I can get a lot more for it than what it cost me.
