Apple TV? Mac mini? iPods? All the rest have had recent updates so these 3 for me have been waiting in the wings for awhile for upgrades.

Apple wouldn't admit, "We're horribly slow."

Apple isn't going to say, "We've taken too long to update this product." Why would a company want to announce "We are slow to improve."?

I'm thinking they have found a way to take something that's physically long and make it shorter. Perhaps retractable power cords/chargers will be shipped with newly-announced Macs and iPads.

It's been way too long since we gave you update on Apple's new headquarters. It's on schedule. Thank you and good night.

I hope it's Mac mini. Mine is way too old and needs to be replaced. I'm hoping for a completely new design. I think it's time to introduce a new model so significantly different it deserves a new name. Mini updates have been too evolutionary to bee exciting.

I've been wondering for a while why they don't do this… Make the Apple TV a Mac too… allow OSX and iOS apps for gaming and last but not least… let me get channels ala-carte… now we're talking and goodbye to Comcast!

Well it has been 20 years since the last one, but that didn't work out so well. A new, fully capable Apple TV makes sense with the history, I just don't see an entire event based on it given all of the other things needing updating. In a week we will know.

My guess would be iPad Air 2, new Displays to drive Mac Pros - possibly 5K, Mac Mini - not sure, would love to see them for you all but I'm still little bit sceptical - no leaks, images, news etc. And of course - Yosemite shipping shortly after - that evening :).

But what does it all mean?

"It's Been Way Too Long" means that Apple will release a product (or three) that are long overdue. Something that Apple fans have been expecting for a while, but has been vaporware to date. Something that has not received any attention or refresh in more than a year (or two). Maybe the elusive Retina iMac. Or maybe the Second Coming of the AppleTV? Or the long overdue Mac Mini update.

New Mac Mini, new Thunderbolt displays, but can't see a retina iMac. The sheer power required to push that many pixels, I don't see them fitting that gpu in there, at least at any reasonable price and not without mediocre performance.

Well, AMD could provide Apple with HBM memory-equiped graphics... And... :)

Because we're all speculating...

Expecting:
Updated iMacs
Updated Thunderbolt Displays (even if only to TB2)
Updated iPads/iPad Minis

Realistic Hope:
Updated Haswell Mac Mini

Unrealistic Hope:
Updated Mini w/ early-access Broadwell, fanless redesign, and $499 starting price point. Even more unrealistic: 8GB RAM standard (and upgradeable, unless they can get this thing to NUC-size or smaller) and 128GB PCIe-based SSD standard.

One can dream...

could be a finger pushing down, the most pressure is red. anything in the works for a more pressure sensitive ipad?
