No, I am not new here at all, but Apple deserves a lot of criticism at this point. Their efforts on the desktop have been utterly pathetic. A few spec bumps over so many years is barely even trying. I realize some people live to complain but at this point, it's absolutely justified.

Utterly pathetic? The iMac Pro was released less than a year ago; with loads of performance, core options, USB-3 and TB 3 ports, and 10G ethernet. Other iMacs have had spec-bumps inline with Intel's roadmap.

And...on a personal note, my 4 GHz i7 5K iMac still works great and puts a smile on my face everyday I work in front of its gorgeous display.

It’s kind of amazing that Apple built the Steve Jobs Theatre to be used just once a year.

I would have thought that a major iPad and Mac event would be hosted at Apple Park.

I think Samsung has it rented for that day and the next... the next being the day they roll out their "copies" of whatever Apple shows on 10/30. ;)

Most of the complaints you're thinking of were in regard to throttling that was making the 2018 MacBook Pro perform worse than the 2017 MacBook Pro. This prompted Apple to release a fix for the issue. Seems justified to me.
Ooh, they had to tweak some incorrect V/F controller values. Oooooo.

Nice, people were getting worried that it wasn't going to happen. I'm glad to be wrong this case. I was thinking that that the door was closing on the month of October for such an event.

I was expecting AAPL to announce the Single Lens Version of the iPhone XS today (i.e., the Next-Gen High-End iPhone XSE), but this pops-up instead ... so now, it's either take a chance on ordering an XR tonight after midnight, OR hold-off till the 30th, & see if the iPhone XSE gets announced then.

I think AAPL wanted to announce the iPhone XSE today, but it wasn't fully planned, & ONLY started to gain momentum AFTER it become obvious that sales of the 5.8" iPhone XS weren't doing so well.

An XSE with 4 GB of DRAM & priced @ $899 would sell well, so I'm NOT sure why we've NOT heard much about it via the rumor mill.

And, it would be priced as low as the 256 GB XR, $37.45/month, vs $31.20/month for the $749 64 GB XR.

Common sense says they should have offered this along with the others.

Lol, why in the world would you expect that? You’re living a pipe dream bud. I mean, c’mon now.

Honestly, although I agree that refreshed iMacs are probably on the list, what would you actually "redesign" about the iMac? It's pretty optimal for its use-cases as it stands.

First thing off the bat: reduce those monstrous bezels. There is just no other 2018 computing product with bezels that huge. It needs to go. And if possible, lets see a thinning of the chin as well.

Streamline and refine the design even further. It's what Apple does best.

I guess saying “BAM!” is okay this time given the Brooklyn Academy of Music uses it to promote themselves.

BAM is very close to the Atlantic Avenue Apple store so that is not surprising.

I’d love a Mac Mini that isn’t gimped, or if not, an iMac that I can still spec out for under $3k. Apple really has to prove themselves with software and hardware again and not just overprice because they can (and do).

I’ll wait until sales for the next iPad Pro.

Apple = reasonable pricing=NOT going to happen.
The economy is strong, unemployment is down, people are making money...Apple will take advantage of that for sure!

You know what I meant. We have always paid quite a premium for Apple devices, but not this insane premium. 20-25% over different brand is ok for me, but not 50-75%. For me it's also about EU pricing, which used to be simply US price + EU tax (15-20% depending on country) and that is ok. But now there is like another 10-15% tax for nothing.

“Apple's 2018 iPhone keynote event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time...”. ???
