If it has a spinning hard drive inside it will arrive DOA.
NVME SSD and a T2 chip so the file vault encryption actually works.
so when is apple going to accidently leak what is being announced like they did for the iphone xs and apple watch?
Rather than wait for something that Apple said might take 15 months to deliver, everyone I know bought (or already had) a cheap charger, like a $10-15 Anker or whatever, to use in the meantime.
Assuming you're not being sarcastic: they boxed themselves into a corner. It's pretty clear they bet on pros who buy the machine making vastly more use of GPUs and GPGPU workloads than they did and the thermal design of the machine was built around that. They also bet heavily on TB2 accessories becoming more common and cheaper fast to replace PCIE cards. Neither of those turned out to be good bets. Add in that it used custom sized boards for *everything* plus low volumes meant there wasn't enough demand to even justify a major internal redesign.
Me too. I travel a lot, and Although the 12.9” will be getting physically smaller, I think I would rather have a slightly bigger 11” screen on the current 10.5” form factor. Get the best of both worlds, portability and screen size. But I am curious how much smaller the 12.9” will feel as well. I was pretty much sold on the current 10.5” pros when I heard about these new bezel-less ones. But I think i’ll have to hold them in the store first to decide now.
I feel like it’s sad you’re preparing a $3,000 budget for a Mac Mini lol. You might be on track though since Apple is planning to make it more premium. Apple better not make this a pro device.
Although I have no plans to update my iPad or my two macbooks I’m excited to see what the future (of Apple) looks like.
I'm ready to be underwhelmed again...Look some shiny new toys that are marginally more functional and way more pricey! But aren't they cool looking. Maybe for once they will actually deliver some meaningful updates, but I'm not holding my breath because they have a nasty habit of making the new toys even less owner-modifiable than the previous models. In other news, Apple has announce it has bought out every superglue manufacturer in the universe as well as a tool developer to come up with new proprietary screw heads. And just to be even more of a PITA, all new devices will come sealed within a large block of clear acrylic to ensure you cannot open it with destroying it.
Does anyone else think that the fact it is being held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music mean that music is going to tie into their announcement somehow? Or does it just happen to be a good venue for Apple to mix things up and do a New York keynote.
