New phone colours? Doesn’t look to be any deeper meaning
There were recent rumors that Apple was going to back to the multi-color Apple logo. Not sure if that was true or if this is related, but if not it is an interesting coincidence.

Love all the comments on “innovation” when the vast majority of what is held up as innovation is really just iteration. True innovation is rare and launches a whole new market or reignites the market. The last real innovation in smartphones is the high DPI display. The rest is just incremental improvements.

I don't see how is it any different from anything you already got on your XS Max but carry on... Your money anyway.

To say you “don’t see what’s different” is soo ignorant and not a good argument at all Lol. Obviously there are things different and improvements to the phone overall.

Just wait for the event. Guarantee most of the naysayers will be ooohhhing and ahhhhhing.

I'm retired, so I will watch the event only because it kills two hours. I have no intention of buying a new iPhone or a laptop. But there may be a little discussion about iOS and MacOS, hopefully.

Good work! Bunch of Newbies on here that don’t know the rules.

Butt ugly Apple logo! The designer must have been tripping out on something, similar to Jobs in his younger days.... At any rate, YAWN. I would rather see them spend time squashing bugs and fixing things rather than springing some new gadgets with lackluster updates onto the stage. You can only put so much lipstick on that old pig...

No doubt the phones will sell, but how well? I'm waiting until the 5G thing settles before replacing mine, and it will be interesting to see whether that becomes a factor.

Is it me or does there appear to be elements of the old platinum wallpaper in that Apple logo graphic?

Smaller pixels seems like the definition of iteration to me. Touch/Face ID or 3D Touch seem like like much better examples of innovation.

Is it just me, or does that apple resemble the original iMac? Maybe something in addition to the phones?

It was a bit borderline but it met the criteria because it reignited interest in the market and created a lot of change in apps, app design, etc.

We already had touch and long press and 3D Touch/haptic is just a variation/extension of it. Touch ID isn’t innovative in and of itself because various fingerprint authentication has been done for years. It was simply applied as a new form of authentication. Face ID is just the next iteration of it. None of those things really affected the market or maturation of smartphones.

The innovation this time is they have done without the phone itself. You just pay them a $1000 and get nothing. True innovation.

Are those camera bumps on top of a camera bump!? They look like dimes sitting on top of the phone...

If I'm one of the (I assume) rare people who still loves 3D touch, should I be looking at getting one of the older models? Or will the haptic touch make the experience close enough that it doesn't even matter worrying about?

For the record, I'll be going from a 6S to.... something new next month. I've just been waiting for the announcements to see what's out there.

Am I the only one who hates "the notch"? Looks like a dang Batphone.

Innovate the notch out!

Sorry, too expensive. It’s much cheaper to reuse the same design for 3 years and saves the company money.

Tim Cook has been an innovation disaster — and mark my words, these phones (if they look anything like the mockups) are not going to sell. That is the ugliest camera housing on any flagship device of any current offering now, or probably even in the past 5 years. It’s H O R R I B L E design. Won’t sell. Incoming disastrous sales reports if they seriously release a square camera bump that is that contrasting to the rest of the device.
