I know Apple doesn't usually do nostalgic things such as this, but when they announce the iPhone 8 come September 12th, it would be cool if they showed a flashback to when Steve announced the first iPhone.
The whole: "An iPod... a phone... these are not three separate devices, this is one device, and we are calling it... iPhone. Today, Apple reinvents the phone." Maybe with a black and white filter, with the crazy ones ad playing in the background in its entirety (the version with Steve's voice over). Then have a montage showing how iPhone has changed over the years, and how it’s affected peoples lives. Cue a slow zoom out showing all of this playing as a video on a phone screen... an OLED phone screen that is. Zoom out further, with the camera slowly panning around this glistening black glass enclosure along with the Apple logo. So basically, make it look like it was playing as a montage on the new phones display, while showing the phone off bit by bit, then ending with a hand gripped around it just like with the original iPhone. And closing it with the crazy ones ad still playing in the background:

"... because the people who are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do." *crowd goes nuts*

Maybe that's too cheesy for some, but it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it, and has that warm, classic Apple vibe to it.

Murica™ iPhone confirmed?
[doublepost=1504215166][/doublepost]
This is Utterly false and I have no idea why would even say this. The IPhone 6 was the next big leap in reconstruction, display, and all new capabilities, not to mention Apple's first ever 5.5 iPhone.

Ignore trolls.

They won't. Their argument boils down to this, watertight way of looking at Apple:

Apple does something that Steve Jobs has done before: "They're not innovating, they're just milking Steve's past successes!"

Apple does something that Steve Jobs has not done before: "They're changing Apple and need to remember what Steve did that was so successful!"

It doesn't matter the evidence to the contrary. Steve very publicly said he didn't like large screened iPhones. Yet someone here once said the iPhone 6's success was the 'last trick left from Steve Jobs'.

The iPhone 7 plus being the best selling iPhone is proof that Steve (although not very often) was wrong about the screen sizes.

Here's the real surprise: They are switching to Windows 10 OS. The bailout from Microsoft in the late 90's came with a condition, payable on the 20th year anniversary.

Just because I made this up doesn't mean it's not true.

At first I was surprised at the possible price of handsets that might be announced on 12th Sept but then I reflected that although these phones will cost as much as a MacBook they are now powerful enough and versatile enough to replace many of the tasks I'd use a compact laptop for and they fit in an inside pocket. Big choice ahead - new computer or new phone.....but definitely a new Apple TV if it announced.

Interesting way of looking at it but are you really going to pop out your iPhone and start using it like you'd use your Mac? I don't now and won't with the new one. Are you going to sell your Mac and use your phone as your computer? I could never do that. I can't even do intensive work on an iPad.

The new phone is hella 'spensive. It can't be justified if one is being honest. It's pure decadence. If I decide to get one -- probably will unless it's nothing like the rumors -- it's all for instant gratification.

I normally hate this sort of wild speculation, but if you'll entertain me for a second, I've noticed something interesting about the invite. Ignoring the deceptive colors and focusing solely on the figure, you can sort of make out…

…an apple! Now that you've made it this far down the rabbit hole, I'm going to suggest that perhaps—perhaps—this media event will be… an Apple event. Like the company!
Where did you get the black image from?

Super excited! Time to upgrade from my 5s, hopefully.
Any body else thinks Apple has some surprises this year?

I'm upgrading from an 5S this year, myself, but I'm not holding my breath. Sadly, in the past years Apple has hardly ever presented anything that wasn't already heavily rumored/leaked long before the event. I feel like we already know everything that's coming. I'm not expecting any other big surprises, sadly. I miss those times.

I think the logo represents the three colors of iPhone 8. White(silver) , Copper, and Midnight Black.

Analysis:

The white is a spotlight shining on the missing part of the apple. The missing part is round, like a home button, which makes sense because they've removed it. The message "Let's meet at our place" tells us we've been invited to their home, and that avenue is round too. It's a giant home button and it's called Steve Jobs (Theatre). We're home.

Plus a bunch of colors.

I've cracked the code!
The tagline "Let's meet at our place." is pretty self-explanatory, but it gets interesting when you start looking at the logo.

See, the white curve in the upper middle of the logo clearly represents the new curved OLED display on the new iPhone 8. Duh. BUT, the colors themselves say even more.

Red, white, and blue probably indicates that they're planning on doing a battle reenactment of the American Civil War at the Keynote. But, of course they won't do it live on stage. That would just be silly. It'll just be in the intro video.

The strange thing is how red (1), white (2), and blue (3) (in that order) are counter-clockwise in the logo! This can only indicate that the new Apple Watch will redefine the way we think of time. Maybe even with watch faces featuring backwards moving hands?

Also, did you notice how there's way less blue than red and white in the logo? I predict there will be 3 colors for the iPhone 8. Red (Product RED, of course), white, and a LIMITED EDITION blue! That's why there's way less blue in the logo.

Finally... Notice how there's some pink in the bottom right corner of the logo? Well, that means Tim Cook will be sporting new pink hair for the special occasion! This isn't rocket science, folks. It's just logic.

Can't wait for Tim to "reveal" all the new products we already know about thanks to leaks and rumors! So exciting!

Humans are ridiculous.

If the Mini is updated in 2017, I'd expect it to be a silent update around the High Sierra release, or be included somehow in the iMac Pro release. If it isn't updated before the end on 2017, I'd be concerned that it is an abandoned/dead product. Which is a shame, because I have several customers that would buy a current spec Mini today if Apple would bother to sell one.

4K HDR projection and 42 HomePods set up in a huge Atmos array.

(I'm only half kidding, it's 69 HomePods)
At this point they could do 8K! I know Japan has been doing some stuff with 8K. Maybe they're using the new modular Mac Pro to run it, lol. On a display the size of an auditorium 8K would look fantastic.

How’s your 5S doing these days? I’m on 6S but wondering if I could make it another two years. Is it bearable?

I'm also on a 5S, if that helps. It totally depends on your usage and patience. I'm getting more and more annoyed, lately, but overall it's still doing a very fine job...except...battery life
