My guess is "touch" is implying you'll be able to test it out firsthand at the event. They're inviting you to "see" and to "touch" the iPad 3.

CAN SOMEONE PLESAE TELL ME WHAT WILL BE NEW APPLETV 3? WHAT FEATUR WILL IT HAVE??

:confused::confused:

The New AppleTV 3 will have 6GB ram & 2 mirrored sdd with Apple's own ZFS. It will get an app store, Siri & Kinect, 6 USB3 and quad thunderbolt ports. The top will be a touchscreen. It shall have 2 radeon graphics cards in it.

The event shall be streamed live in HD3D.

Otherwise everyone knows as much as you.

I agree 100%.

I don't think anyone cares what foolish expectations the Apple rumour websites have. Apple just happened to have the event on the same day people said it would be. Random co-incidence that's all.

For most people the event will go something like this:
"blah blah new product, blah blah blah released on X date blah blah"
And as soon as the date is released they'll make their plans to camp out for it.

uhh . . you do realize you are posting on a site called macRumors right?

No. I thought this was Facebook.

As much as I believe we will see a retina display screen, Apple hasn't said it yet, therefore it's still a macRUMOR. I'm sure you remember how all that iPhone 5 nonsense turned out.

This is not an iPad!

I bet the invitation shows no iPad:

- There is no Homebutton
- there is no magnifying glass (iOS search)
- there are no "dots" that count the homescreens

Or all the pictures of the backplates of the rumored iPad 2s / 3 are fakes.

But I think, we see here kind of new input device for maybe the iTV.

So how does the app Keynote work on an 'iTV'?

Home button

The Home button is there. There are many ways explaining why it's not in the photo. Point is, the home button is iconic for Apple. It's how my 5 year old cousin and 80 year old grandfather intuitively finds out how to use the iPad. And Apple is all about being user-friendly.

AND: the home button is essential for using hard restarts...

If the button is missing, it will look like a Huawei.
There just have to be something to recognize the face of the Ipad and the button with its smooth rectangle is part of it, the more as to balance the opposite dot of the camera.

I would put a100 Bucks on it.

The rumors are very often correct when they have been heard and confirmed by so many, so close to the date of announcement. If you remember correctly when leading up to the iPhone 4S announcement there were many rumors that there would be no iPhone 5, but only a 4S. Though tabloids and naïve people refused to listen to the hints. I'll bet my ass there will be an iPad 3 with a retina display.

The other rumors include LTE, better camera etc. But they haven't been "confirmed" by so many sources so I wouldn't bet anything on that.

Yes, but does a remote control need a home button ?

Apple could simply rip off another idea that Google introduced with Android 4 and devices designed for Android 4: NO PHYSICAL BUTTONS REQUIRED.

Volume up/down and Power on/off are the only physical buttons that make sense. As Android 4 devices demonstrate, everything else can be done with the touch interface. Apple might follow this direction with the iPad 3.

But in any case, who cares for another restricted iOS device? Unless Apple opens the platform for third party app stores and makes iOS at least as open as OS X was before Dungeon Keeper (official name: Gatekeeper), I won't touch iOS devices with a flagpole.

To everyone saying that the hand is too small in proportion to the iPad.... If you took an average sized index finger and pointed at an app icon it would almost cover the icon. Obviously they want the calendar app to be very visible because it has the date of the event. They either shopped the image or found someone (Asian) with very tiny hands. Otherwise if things were kept In scale the hand would be covering the app icons and it would make for a lousy image. I understand apple rarely shops product photos but this is really JUST an invitation and it's main purpose is to show the date of the event, which it is doing just fine. It's not an actual photo shoot to demo the product. It's just an invitation.

Just my two cents on that part of it.

How racist! What a ridiculous statement to make, almost as ridiculous as....
Maybe it's an American with small hands (and a very fat ass!):p

Man, you are the most miserable, Anti Apple person I know.

I never read one of your post that is complimentary.

If Apple does a physical change like removing the home button totally, it'll come to the iPhone first before making its way to iPod Touches and iPads. I don't think such a major change will start with the iPad.

Just my 2 cents.

Changes usually occur not necessarily with the product they are most suited, but with the one that is being updated sooner.

"Rip off" from Google? Why are you using such a term? Following your logic one could say every other company ripped off the iPhone after 2007.

In the tech world you don't get to rip stuff off like a high school project report of your neighbor in class. There are patents involved everywhere and a hair here and there causes legal explosions of biblical proportions.

Look up Apple Smart Bezel patent in Google. What they are making is an innovation of their own.

They could have a new way of doing hard reset. If they did it wouldn't be the first time. Remember there still are the power and volume buttons.

Any word on whether the event will be live streamed online or not?

Yea I want that too but wouldn't count on it :( they stopped it for a couple of years now. I believe the bandwidth was just not enough. Also it gives them an opportunity to edit the event video before releasing to the world.

Yeah, because you don't touch the home button...

monaarts makes a valid point. You don't merely touch the Home button, you press it as all other buttons with the same mechanism. My hope is that we are going to see an iPad 3 with a retina display and no physical buttons (and, of course, better CPU/GPU, more RAM), at least no rudimentary Home button that is used less and less in the new iOS releases and appears to break down with the time.

Yes, of course, of course Apple copied everyone. In your alternate universe.

Exactly. an Os shouldn't be held back based on hardware "norms".
