Wow, that's clearly a higher res screen! (he says while viewing on his iPad 2).
You can't see the magnets for the smart cover either. This clearly means they're using a magnet-free "invisible cover"
I can't wait!
When you look at the distance between the Icons then you will see that the iPad on the picture is in landscape mode. I turned my iPad in landscape and hold it in the same angle like the pic then u see that it's in landscape orientation.
However, there are a few strange things here.
- Apple mentioned "And Touch" ....
- Taken a pic of that section of the iPad really would make no difference when you have the iPad vertical or horizontal oriented. So why did Apple didn't used the iPad in the upright position? the only reason other that the home button will be removed is that the image looks better when there is more space between the icons (horizontal orientation).
And Touch could refer to new featured on the iPad.
So, Apple is either really really clever and trying to give us a hint or they just didn't thought that far....
ah and Bill Sigxxx go to work
Been reading MR for years and finally signed up so I could "Up Arrow" this post.
Sorry, should have said "Vote Up" this post.
I didn't read the +950 comments but I have a question:
Do any of you know if...
...there's a place on the web where we can see a streaming video of the event?
...what time will it be held?
Thank you! I'd love to see the event![]()
If they want significant Apple TV adoption, they should sell it bundled with the iPad. That way you could get everyone "trained" for the release of the Apple iTV big screen next year.
I don't see any sign that an actual full-scale iTV will make it's debut any time soon...too early, we would have seen the rumor build-up going sky high...
then again, no one knew about Mountain Lion until last week, so Apple CAN keep secrets these days it seems.
I don't believe that Apple streams live video of the event and I'm not even sure that they release video after the fact. MacRumors generally reports on the event live.
The event begins at 10 am Pacific Time, which translates to 7 pm in Switzerland.

I think we need an "Update" at the end of the article:
"buttonless iPad?"

They always, always have the video to watch afterwards - usually posted within a few hours after the event finishes. All the past ones for iPad, iPad 2 announcement etc are on iTunes in the Apple Events podcast.
The iPad in the invitation picture was taken in portrait mode, not landscape. See attached pic for proof. So it's either a no button deal or the iPad is upside down (And from the angle the photo is taken, the webcam wouldn't be seen)
...or it's just a render from an advert, which tells us nothing about whether the iPad3 is 'Home-less' or not.![]()
Actually they do use actual pics of devices.

Wow, really people?
They painted out the home button because it's location in the photo would be distractingly close to the text and the edge of the frame. That is all.
