its always funny when one person tries to triumphantly minimize the relevance of an issue in question..lol just to be contrary and seem important.. Its not "just a button" its the core function control aspect of all IOS devices and a very very big deal to millions of users..![]()

The iPad in the invitation picture was taken in portrait mode, not landscape. See attached pic for proof. So it's either a no button deal or the iPad is upside down (And from the angle the photo is taken, the webcam wouldn't be seen)
Am I the only one seeing this invitation as being possibly fake? The spacing on the apps looks odd - regardless of orientation of the iPad.
The other thing that's got me questioning it is the "reflections" of the hand on the device. I mean someone has simply taken the hand image and mirrored it. I don't see this being Apple. And it's sort of amateur-ish.
See image attached. (Sorry for quick chop-job. It's 1:20AM here)
I copied the fingers in photoshop and simply did a vertical flip and got the same look as the inviation.
I then upped the levels on image (far right) and you can clearly see the mirrored fingers and odd fading of the hand.
If you hold your iPad in the same angle as the image and hold your finger in the same position too, you'll see that your finger won't simply show up as it appears in the invitation - you'd be able to see the underside.
Then there's the weird light on the thumb's nail.![]()

What I'm thinking is that it is referring to the new Apple TV.
I'm not sure how Siri (Beta) would work with a TV across the room. But there are 55 million iPads out there and most likely those people have a few TVs. What I think Apple is going to do is use the iPad as the remote (with or without Siri) to a ATV Box. Thus you have to "Touch" the iPad to "See" the TV.
I don't think most people want to go out and buy new TVs. I know I don't, but I do know Apple has a way of creating new products that everyone wants. The main problem I see with Apple selling TVs is that there stores have not been designed to hold that large of an item let alone enough to keep up with what the potential demand is.![]()
How racist! What a ridiculous statement to make, almost as ridiculous as....
Maybe it's an American with small hands (and a very fat ass!)![]()
It's not. Do you not see the "Keynote" icon next to the calendar ?
That's marketing at it's best.![]()
Good note... I wonder if we will see new maps app too???
No monaarts. Think of all you see on the image in terms of "invitation":
What: Keynote {Keynote App}
When: Wed, 7th March {iCal App}
Where: Cupertino, CA {Map App}
I wasn't being racist. And yeah, a lot of Americans do have fat asses- that's not being racist either. Pointing out a general physical norm is not what racism is.
When you look at the distance between the Icons then you will see that the iPad on the picture is in landscape mode. I turned my iPad in landscape and hold it in the same angle like the pic then u see that it's in landscape orientation.
However, there are a few strange things here.
- Apple mentioned "And Touch" ....
- Taken a pic of that section of the iPad really would make no difference when you have the iPad vertical or horizontal oriented. So why did Apple didn't used the iPad in the upright position? the only reason other that the home button will be removed is that the image looks better when there is more space between the icons (horizontal orientation).
And Touch could refer to new featured on the iPad.
So, Apple is either really really clever and trying to give us a hint or they just didn't thought that far....
ah and Bill Sigxxx go to work
Would you mind if MacRumors put 5 ads at the top of every news post? After all, your scroll bar isn't broken.
The problem is that it adds nothing to the discussion. It has become the equivalent of "first" and just takes up space and eats bandwidth. Believe it or not, some people are bandwidth sensitive either because they have ancient connections or data caps. 15,000 people may say verbally they want to buy it, but it takes less space and is just text.

I agree. They also appear to have removed the magnifying glass and dots indicating which page of icons you are on. Further, the scale of the hand does not seem right and it is illuminated in a way that the light source is not coming from the iPad.
In other words, Apple have Photo-shopped out anything that distracts from the simple message that this is a Keynote presentation on the 7th March to discuss the iPad and have added in the hand pointing to the date.
Why replace a simple button press with a multi-fingered gesture? It's much easier for casual users/novices to just hit the home button.
Anyway, I found this pic which seems to dispel the idea that the home button has been removed-

Yeah, and where's the backlight leakage or whatever at the edge of the screen?!?!?

That doesn't dispel it. That's the basis of the whole argument for the removal of the home button. If the home button did exist under the Photo app in your picture, it should also exist under the Maps app in the invitation.
