Yes and 4 + 1 = 5

Current iPhone + 1 = ?

We will be disappointed

Looking at the invitation, my impression is that it's all about iOS 5, there will be no totally redesign iPhone 5, just minor upgrade to the iPhone 4.

I'm disappointed. :(

4" screen - battery life ?

I think the main reason, 4" screen is still a question is how the battery life going to hold?

A5 will be under clocked to manage the battery life to keep it up to iPhone 4 but 4" screen *might* be the deal breaker.

for one, I would love to have 4" screen with 1024 * 768 (almost a full website resolution, i meant most of the site)

What that picture tells me:
Tuesday October 4th, at 10:00 AM in Apple HQ they will hold an announcement regarding an iPhone (whether it's 4S or 5 I do not know)

The phone isn't even announced yet and you're already disappointed?

Seems like you know something we don't. Tell us more.

Don't be disappointed - your thinking is disjointed. Cook has been appointed and the new iPhone will help him be anointed!!

what is there to disappoint (if the bigger screen did not get a cut)

you will still get
Dual Core A5 (under clocked) - makes the system faster
16/32GB storage - we wish it is 32/64GB - the newer and higher capacity Flash makes the system faster
1GB RAM - makes the system faster
iOS5 - more features

All i want to see is better battery life and 4" screen - screen size could be a problem for good two day use of battery life

Apple wouldn't call it a 4S if it had a different body.

Just making a point that until something is announced, it's ludicrous to say you wouldn't buy it.

Heck, even after it was leaked, people said they wouldn't buy the iPhone 4....but they did anyway.

Current iPhone + 1 = ?

Tuesday (2) plus the 4th.... 2 + 4 = 6
10:00 am minus the 4th.... 10 - 4 = 6
Map 280 road sign.... 8 - 2 - 0 = 6
1 notification icon.... 1 = The One =.....

OMG! Obama IS the anti-christ!  :D

I'm in the same boat as that other dude. I am 99% sure that if Apple uses the iPhone 4 body, I will be buying the SG2 and just using that until a proper upgrade exists, in which case I will switch back to the beautiful Apple iPhone 6. It'd take something absolutely astonishing to keep me around if they keep the same body style.

Snore... For apps that will be written for legacy phones, maybe they will load faster. You can see this with the iPad 2 v 1.

16/32GB storage

Huh? They will announce they are keeping the size the same? You are right, no disappointment there.

1GB RAM - makes the system faster

Again, see my snore above. It's a bullet point.

You didn't even mention the only real improvement they have up their sleeve, the better camera. Yipppeeeee

Trust me, it will be a letdown unless they address the LTE issue.
They may not be ready for LTE but the other smartphones sure are.

I still love my iPhone4 and they will need something substantial to get me to sign another 2 year contract.

Well, I've been having the iPhone 4 for awhile now. I'm looking to have something that look different, not just internal upgrade. I'm happy with the internal upgrade, but I just want both internal and external upgrade to satisfy with the loooonnnng wait.

This news will be the highlight of my week.

4 icons mean

Oct.4 10 o'clock
Apple HQ new call/phone

more:

talk = assistant
October "4" = no iphone 5?

Since

Mar. "2" = iPad "2"

+1

But I also hope it won't be completely about iphones. I'm overdue for an ipod! Still using 1gen nano, and waiting to see what's next! Love to hear about mac pro's with thunderbolt too!

Love of the icons, and here's my own spec on that phone badge; since it is about notification, and since the other icons are all used to their functions (clock shows exact time, date shows day and date like the app suppose to...) I'm thinking the phone app is using what the badge means to convey a message/pun intended.

So doesn't phone app get a badge when there is a miss call, or voicemail? So using a metaphor of a missed call/voicemail badge ... but what could that mean? You missed a call from Apple??? Somehow that doesn't seem right... but someone clever here could possible relate the notification of a miss call/voicemail to something better?

This seems like the most reasonable explination. Due to that, I think the icon probably indicates "oops, we missed our original launch date"
