Okay then, seen as everyone else is making awesome theories I'll go ahead and make mine. Let's look at the numbers involved:
Calendar Icon: 4 & 10 (The date 4th October)
Clock Icon: 10 & 12 (The numbers the hands point to)
Maps Icon: 280 (The number on the blue sign)
Phone Icon: 1 (The number of notifications)
So now for some quick maths:
4 plus 10 = 14
14 times 10 times 12 = 1680
1680 divided by 280 = 6
AND FINALLY 6 minus 1 = *****5*****
Coincidence?? I think not

I have to admit - as someone who got the iPhone 4 the 1st day it was available - I am a little underwhelmed by the iPhone 4s.
Yes, a nicer camera would be nice. But I have a 16 megapixel DSLR camera - so it's not like I really need a better camera on my phone.
The faster processor and greater memory would certainly be nice -- those features are doing ok on my iPhone 4 though.
Perhaps the biggest issue to me is that my warranty has now expired on the iPhone 4. I did not re-up with AppleCare because I suspected a new iPhone 5 would be coming in the late summer.
Oh well.. I've had every model of iPhone so far, so I will probably get this one, too.

I never really thought about defecting either....however...iPhone 4s??? To me it would be fun to switch to the SGS2 until the iphone 5 or 6 or whatever they'll call it comes out.
The ONLY thing that would make me consider staying, despite a lack of a re-design, is what iOS5 might bring to the table...but for software alone to keep me....hmmm...there will have to be some pretty awesome features that haven't already been shared.
I hope that Apple talks me into staying...but we'll see on Oct 4th.

I'm pretty sure BigIssues is just trolling. Because if he's not, those two bolded words are unintentionally hilarious.
I am not totally sold on the whole 2 phone thing.
I mean, why would you release a 4S as a cheaper option? Surely the 4 will become the cheap option? Unless they are pulling it completely but I can't see that happening? Unless they do pull it completely because of 'Antennagate' which they know still exists and some users are still reporting problems.
But other than that, I would say they would just release one model, whether it be the 4S or the 5, and the 4 then becomes the cheaper version?
I'm sure the people who do not have an iPhone currently but want one, will more than likely go with the cheaper option (whatever it may be) rather than the latest one out.
