Let's talk iPhone

The tag line seems like a command to me. Maybe it alludes to the "Assistant" feature...

do we know for sure iphone 5 won't have lte?

----------

Why doesn't Apple make a mobile app so people could tune in to their media events and watch a live feed of video during it. Everyone across the world would be tuned in watching each Apple media event from then on! It would be HUGE!!!!

agreed. despite the massive server farm in n.c., apple still sucks at internet. stingy even.

To easyyy..

Calendar + Clock + Map + phone+1 badge= iphone 5 enuff said;)

----------

My only concern now is will we get a live stream on this date. I dont care about anything else but that. So lets gets sum feed bak MR on live stream on OCT 4th!!!:apple:

If Apple does do a live stream of this event (I only remember them doing that once recently), is there another site on the web that usually has one?

----------

I wonder what will be in the "One more thing" if they are carrying on the one more thing tradition since the main focus will be on the iphone this time. White ipod touch possibly?

They rarely do the "One more thing" thing anymore. The last one was at the iCloud unveiling, and even then, Steve Jobs said it's just a "tiny thing". Before that, it was a couple years ago, I believe.

Can someone compare the invite resolution to current iPhone 4 resolution to see if it suggests increase in screen size? Just an idea

October 4th + the 1 on the call icon makes 5.

Iphone 5 is coming!!! :)

Couldn't agree more ... see #265 ;)

I think that pretty much sums it up. Up until today I'd never noticed that the maps icon was Infinite Loop. Cool.

So, if Apple releases an iPhone 4-based phone with an A5 chip, 8 MP camera and HSPA+ (for AT&T customers, everyone else gets CDMA 3G) and names it iPhone 5, can we PLEASE stop with this 4S nonsense?

The "iPhone 4S" is how everyone refers to the device you mention above (codenamed N94), we call it the 4S to differentiate it from the possible new designed iPhone, which we call the 5.

The actual naming of the device/s is less relevant than the features it/they will carry, so this distinction should remain in place until we know either way.

My 2 cents:

- Apple must release a cheaper iPhone if they want to stay on the edge. Android phones are selling like water and Apple can't let them win. I understand that iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 are selling like water too, but they will be (or they already are!) outdated.
- Apple must release an iPhone much better then the iPhone 4. I mean, a bit bigger screen, maybe thinner, + A5 CPU, 1GB RAM, 8MP camera.

I see many very good Android phones out there.. like Samsung Galaxy 2. It's an awesome phone with a beautifull screen (but too big in my opinion!). There are options out there. This is my point. The iPhone 2G and 3G didn't have any real good competition, but now there are. Many.

Apple needs to wake up: cheaper iPhone 4 and an amazing iPhone 5.

I guess the meaning of “Let’s talk iphone” is that the new iphone (iphone5) has got this new feature called “Assistant” feature of iOS 5 which allows you to tell your iPhone what you want it to do in a human language and then watch it proceed to act as your, uh, assistant. So let’s all hope for an iphone5..

The red "1" means that Gus is gonna kill Jesse.

I want to +1 this forever. Breaking Bad is making the wait for the event easier as I focus on Breaking Bad! It is getting quite intense.

You don't need an app for that, apple usually streams their events using Quicktime on their web site. I watched the iPad unvealing on my iPhone.

I doubt there wil be be two iPhones. One new iPhone and possible continued sales of the 4 at a reduced price. Possible some new additions to the iPod Touch line.

As far as the new iPhone goes, are people really going to want to sign up for two year contracts without LTE? Two more years of 3G is a long time.

Who are these people? Most people have no idea about 4G or LTE and of those who do, most couldn't care less. People who post here are not representative of the population at large.
