Wow- dual flash is SO innovate... never been done before. extremely innovative. Apple is so on top again.

Oh, wait, nokia has double flash for years. Well, I am sure apple does it so much more elegantly.

Apple MADE the smartphone market (and don't get me wrong, I am grateful!) but they are very behind in the market, and nothing here looks like they will gain ANY ground. Color is innovative? Double Flash will set the market oin their ears? Get over it, Apple is so far back.

Agreed. I've had most all versions of the iPhone but Apple has fallen behind the power curve, unless there is a huge WOW factor coming that we have not heard about. The days of the big WOW may be over:(. I'll wait for the iPhone 6 however, I can't wait for iOS 7:D.

The Fingerprint scanner is for secrecy and privacy. Maybe the amount of leaks and rumors for the iPhone 5S are not as much as the 5C because they are trying to keep the secrecy & privacy. & in the invite they don't hint as much at the fingerprint scanner or the iPhone 5S cause it's all about privacy and secrecy.

Maybe all the information is just one fingerprint scan away?

Only Apple knows.

You are joking for the Mac Pro, right?
I mean, there's still a lot of questions left to be answered about it, and we have yet to see cost, real-life performance and real-life expandability, but to me there seems to be a spoonful of innovation in it; new thermal core (which explains the new round design), dual GPU... Plus they are betting big on thunderbolt expandability, which, if anything, is ballsy.

Now I don't pretend to be a connoisseur, but that seems at least a little bit innovative (plus it's things we didn't predict before the reveal)

We knew that the new mac pro was going to bet it all for thunderbolt 2 because apple is getting rid of fire wire so that´s not a big surprise, also we know that they were gonna be using latest intel (haswell) and apart from the round design (that i am not saying for any matter it look bad, i think it´s going to be interesting on how it looks in real life and the only design problem that i see with it is having all of your peripherals connected by wire causing a mess behind the mac pro) I don´t really see that much innovation, I mean it sure went from square to round but it is not a total innovation it is still just a tower PC, it would be like changing the shape of the keys on a keyboard from square to round, it is still a key that its main function hasn't change just improved (if for that matter did) IMO a real innovation would be an all in one Mac Pro just like the iMac with a 4k display and the capability of upgradeability the MacPro is known for, what I'm going for is they are not creating anything new, they're just upgrading and redesigning whats already here.

I'm still a little bitter that the 6th iPhone was branded with a 5!

That's because you're thinking like a logical technology enthusiast. To the consumer, 5 was the right name. It'll continue as well...5, 5S, 6, 6S. Y'all just gonna have to get used to it. Well, until they bring out 'The New iPhone'.

I certainly hope not. I have my 5 on eBay right now:eek:

I sold my daughters 4s and promised to give her my 5 so there had better be a 5s. My concern is that there have been so few stories about the 5s and most of the leaks seem to be about the 5c.
Imagine the reaction on this site if Apple don't announce a replacement for the 5 next week

This is pretty much exactly what was expected of the invitation. It almost confirms the iPhone 5C, if that was at all necessary at this point..

At least we don't have to guess what the invite ad means this year. The colorful bubbles obviously represent the 5C. Kind of sad really. I don't think I like knowing whats coming. I like the guessing game.

With all these recent leaks, I think I might get some work done on Tuesday after all. :)

TC-era Apple proves just how yawn-inducingly predictable it really is

But at the same time, exciting nevertheless, for millions around the globe. :D
To be fair, some of that predictability would have crept in, no matter who would have been at the helm.

Imagine the reaction on this site if Apple don't announce a replacement for the 5 next week

They will announce a replacement for the iPhone 5. It will just be an incremental update.

Not sure it's worth replacing a perfectly fine iPhone 5. Depends how much you value those extra mega pixels & a small performance increase.

count how many colors of bubbles in the invite? I see 10:

Red, 2 purples, yellow, gold, blue, cyan, green, white and pink.

Hmm... no black.

There's a graphite ring around all of the white circles. ;)

I hope the event is streamed live. The WWDC was streamed and since i had the iPad, i was able to watch it.

Hey gang, will this event result in changes to iPad pricing?

Sorry, Apple will never pay for its devices by advertising like Google or by screwing authors like Amazon.

----------

Apple is not meant to allow you to pick up women at the opera with a feature that only works if you two have the exact same phone.

It just seems very odd to me to ditch the flagship iphone 5 for the plastic version if they have essentially the same internals. I don't see how this is going to work. Who would want to trade their iphone 5 for plastic?

It may surprise you to know there are probably many people who would rather have a Red, Yellow, blue, Green iPhone than a Aluminium one.

Many people are more into visual than worrying about technical stuff and materials.

One more thing

Will be interesting to see if there will be a "One more thing...".
Feels like there was a long time ago they had something like that.

Hey!Does anyone know, does Apple send the Press Release Event live stream on the web ?

The latest conspiracy is Apple may be changing App Icons to circles. Whispers that the grey circles could be the new home button image, and all app icons become circles to match. Macrumors did mention this in an article ran a few months ago (anyone wanna dig that one up?) I attached a picture for some further explanation.

I really hope not. I don't know what it is, but I absolutely hate the circular icons on the 7th gen nano. I'm usually a logical consumer first, but those icons have actually made me refuse to purchase one.

Meh... no fun in deciphering this one. It's all too obvious after the all ridiculous leaks.

In and of itself, the new round shape is not innovation, no. What I think is innovative is the thermal core, of which the round design derivates from. It is not innovative in the sense that it changes the way the product is used, but I think it innovates more on the tech-side. It's not just round for the sake of it, it is in response to what's inside (I guess it could've been a triangle...). Plus, changing too drastically what a power-station is would probably not sit well with the pros (we already have to see how they'll welcome the new Pro).

And just to play the devil's advocate; if to be innovative you need to create something new, than one simply cannot say that anyone in the industry innovates; a smartphone is a smartphone and no one has changed what the smartphone is, they upgrade the concept and redesign handsets. OR everyone would be able to say that anyone in the industry innovates, as a benign new feature might change the way one person uses a phone, but not someone else. Innovation, defined this way, might be both too encompassing and too reducing.

Anyway, lie I said, devil's advocate. I do get where you're coming from, though. We'll just have to wait and see in which direction all of this takes us in the long run...

Product[red] iPhone 5c??

Didn't read all of the posts here, so sorry if someone already pointed it out. There is 1 dark pink/red dot in the invitation. Perhaps, Apple is releasing a Product[red] iPhone 5c which will only be available for sale in the Apple Store??

Hurry up and take my money!

Can't wait. I'm sure the fingerprint sensor is there to secure a new feature on the 5S. I'm going to go out on a limb and say some sort of credit card integration. Would not be surprised if Apple partnered with American Express.

Clear Balloons for iCloud - iPay

As we all know the Mac Universe is highly focused on hardware and gadgets with Software stuff being a secondary interest. This leaves the Mac universe very vulnerable to missing some big important possibilities that are right in obvious but almost never discussed. I'll bet anything Apple will be announcing further iCloud features and services that could be earth shattering, in my opinion.

Apple keeps saying they are going to do new and different things and they've also said over and over again how important and strategic iCloud is for them. So how about iPay or iBank or something along those lines? They've got the resources to do just about anything including many possibilities in the non-gadget world that could be an amazingly successful expansion to their business.
