1) Ok so then this entire thread is pointless if we are to assume no phone because not announced.
2) The Nano, touch and shuffle were very different from classic ipods. I dont see the analogy. The alleged low rent iPhone C creates a throw away who's only attribute is being powder blue or lime green?
3) Retina ipad mini improves upon an existing product line. I am sorry you cannot make the distinction between improvement and going backward. Changing colors on a stripped down phone is an effort to go after low end market share.
Certain people in the financial industry who follow the company have already opined that they see weak sell through of this line. Part of Apple's selling point is the event itself of having the highest end, latest, greatest product in the market.
1) No, this thread has a point, and it's to let the rest of MacRumors know that an invitation has been sent out for an Apple event to be held on the 10th. I really don't know what more to say about this, the invitation says nothing about an iPhone, nor has Apple confirmed any new iPhone. To immediately jump the gun and pick a part a product that hasn't even been announced is a little high and mighty, don't you think?
2) Doesn't matter if they're different than each other, my point is that they are all iPod's, meaning part of the same family of products. If the rumours and speculation of a 5S and 5C are true, then we have two iPhones in the same family and both serve different purposes. Also, I fail to see how any of the rumoured features/changes of the so called, 5C, could be seen as going backwards?
3) Color improves a product line too, depending on who's looking. To include any rumoured features/changes with the rumoured "5C", increased color choices, cheaper price, and a more playful build style are all improvements if that is what you're looking for. There are millions upon millions of people who would prefer this type of iPhone.
