I take your point but let's see what happens next week shall we. It might just turn out to be more exciting than we think.

He has no point. This is what happens every year with almost every tech device, car, appliance, etc. There are hardly game changing features every year. It's just complaining to complain.

Samsung Galaxy S4 is just a few new colours and higher specs.
Other Android phones are just cheap crap and not even visually appealing.

What is there to be excited about??

My dog understands logic better than an Android troll. Seriously, not worth the effort to try to help them understand by parallel comparisons.

Two of the dots (one to the right of the Apple between the two yellow dots, and the one below the Apple) are definitely a darker shade of yellow than the three yellow dots. They certainly look a bit gold to me.

lol i think your reading it a bit too much into it... as with much of the diehard cultists imo... :D:p:eek:

Forget that! Holographic Facetime or GTFO, Apple!

Only if its glasses free, if its not then no interested. It also better have retinal scanning to unlock the phone instead of that silly finger printer scanner. If I can't look at my phone to unlock it then they have already lost....

But... mainly if no blu ray then no me pay.

Can't believe they went with those childish girly colours, looks like them ugly iOS 7 icons are here to stay also.

just sayin, nothing wrong with color...

Wow- dual flash is SO innovate... never been done before. extremely innovative. Apple is so on top again.

Oh, wait, nokia has double flash for years. Well, I am sure apple does it so much more elegantly.

</fanboi barf>

Apple MADE the smartphone market (and don't get me wrong, I am grateful!) but they are very behind in the market, and nothing here looks like they will gain ANY ground. Color is innovative? Double Flash will set the market oin their ears? Get over it, Apple is so far back.

Exactly and what's even more important than you're already important post is you're passing judgement before the event even happens. Maybe you're afraid that Apple will have a winner here? :)

Should we be reading anything into the fact this is being held at Apple headquarters and not some place bigger?

Interesting point. They used the bigger venue in San Fran last year. Maybe they figure we all know what's coming anyway from all the leaks and this way they don't build up anticipation more than they have to when they don't reveal anything we weren't expecting.

Randomly positioned solid coloured circles, but some white rings with thick gray outlines, with a few hapharzardly piled up in the centre so they can reverse out the logo.

Colours from iOS7? Colours from the new phone models? Gonna be dull looking on the standard entry hall poster prints.

Every communication is an opportunity to re-inforce the brand. This communication screams "oh who cares, it's just the invite" or "get the icon guys to do it".

:(:apple:

I have to agree. I mean if we had not seen all the iPhone 5C's in their entirety including instructional manuals and apple decals this invite would be hinting at the new colors. But based on the leaks this invite is crap. Honestly I don't even see how it relates in any way to the 5S.

Pretty disappointing invite.

Can't stand iOS 7.
iPhone 5S is just a few new colours and higher specs.
iPhone 5C is cheap crap and not even visually appealing.

The best thing for you is to know that you have lots of options when it comes to a cell phone.

It's been well advertised that this "C" model is an attempt to gain market share over Android at low end. While I admit I do not yet know the gross margin, I would bet the ranch it is less than the company's current margin level. Which is ok, since they need to grow top line and most companies sacrifice margin to do it.

Not arguing, but I see it as the opposite. Less expensive materials, easier to manufacture, less defects/rejects then the metal "luxury" model. I can see Apple making more money on the 5C then the 5S. And Apple sells nothing that they don't make money on, nothing.

Yeah, but there is the possibility of it being a controlled leak, right? So it was, in many people's minds, "confirmed" by AllThingsD
Quite possibly you are right. But for me even those leaks are not 100% confirmed. But I take them as very plausible.

There is nothing to look forward for this event. There have been so many leaks. We have seen the colors, the package, the specs. The only thing we don't know is the price and maybe the release date.
Tim Cook has really doubled down on security..

I'm looking to buy a new iPhone this month. I have the money set aside for a 5S but for some reason I'm finding myself really drawn to the 5C for some reason.

I know it'll be cheaper, plastic and the specs will be lower but I just have an urge to have something a little different.

This phone is a fail on so many levels. When did Apple get into making skittles? Why would an iPhone 4/5 owner want to downgrade to powder blue? Ever hear of a case? Does this open a new market for them? Sure, perhaps. But I also think it cannibalizes high end sales to a degree. Lower margin to grab market share. Happens when companies peak or reach a saturation point. I guess once you can't find something to improve upon you can change the color and call it a new product.

Well who could possibly argue with you when you're right on all counts. I mean, a company with over $100 Billion in the bank probably doesn't know as much about business as you do, you know, being the forum lurker that you are. :p

It's pretty simple, there are a multitude of reasons. First, Apple routinely has events on or around September 10th. Secondly, Jim Dalrymple was part of the "confirming sources" who has almost a prefect track record of confirming this sort of thing. Third, when there's a rumor multiple unconnected sources all repeating the same exact information tend to increase the chances the rumor is in fact correct.

People wouldn't "keep thinking like this" if there were repeated rumors of Apple events that turned out to be totally incorrect, but for the most part these speculations turn out to be pretty spot on.

I hope I cleared some things up for you.

I was talking in general with this statement not just about this particular event. And you did clear things up. You say people think speculation (if from someone with a good track record) is confirmed fact. Good track record or not, it's still speculation and not confirmed fact. So you just agreed with my original general statement.

Glad to see you're on the same page as I am.

Unless most leaks were intentional to keep the hype going?

Oh look, lots of balloons. You know what you'll get? New plastic iphones (IN COLORS!) and new iphone 5s with dual led flash. You heard it here first. You're welcome.

But you're not attending the presentation in Cupertino, now are you? ;)
