AppleTV software update 3.0, please. Stop shoving the iTunes store in my face and allow me to easily access my local and networked media without burying it in the menu. And sprinkle some of that Snow Leopard optimizations on the latest update, it's hella slow.

Time to retire the scroll wheel, or make it an option to go virtual for the old-timers when you make all iPods with a full-size LED/OLED display.

I also don't see anything wrong with combining the full-featured design of the iPod touch with the hard drive sizes of the iPod Classic. iPod touch with 320GB or 500GB hard drive? Sweetness.

iTunes 9, please. My library of iPhone applications is making my iMac like it's dragging its heels through the mud. Overall, it's just as slow as my AppleTV 2.4.

Lastly, give me some incentive to drop my cable TV provider. Maybe my math is no good, but I still can't justify $3 per Lost episode. How about renting TV episodes? I know I'm not going to watch them repeatedly. Hell, throw in advertising that I'll pay to remove.

I've been saying this since the first touch was announced... what were they thinking with flash memory???

Rush is the best band of all time.

Try of all time.

hummm.....
Look, I like Rush but best of all time? I think you are out on this one:

1- The Beatles
2- Led Zeppelin
3- Rolling Stones
4- The Who
5- U2
etc.
Not sure if Rush even make the top ten. But for sure top 16.
Cheers!;)

Shuffle- nixed
Nano- camera added
Classic- no changes maybe a price drop
iPod Touch-Camera and 64gb

Ill be there only of a iPod Classic comes out at 240 or 320 GB. Then I'll be home listening to the new Beatles remasters (both Mono and Stereo) and looking at the beautiful packaging rather than hoping for bits and digital pieces of possible downloads.

Oh. There will be Beatles. Maybe not a huge production made about their availability...but they will be in the iTunes store on 9.9.09.

I do think the rest of your predictions are spot on.

Even if they do announce the Beatles on iTunes. I predict they Won't be digitally available until after the Holidays. The Beatles' Apple and EMI have so much invested in the wonderful CD reissues. Stunning sound (yes I've heard them) and beautiful packaging. Also they won't want to take away from Rock Band buyers who usually only download songs.

I'm guessing they were thinking they would like a thinner design with no moving parts to reduce the failure rate of the spinning HDD in the Classics.

haha, I guess they thought people would be looking for a Beatles theme. They went with the better band!

(love them both really)

64 Bit iTunes please.

what would be the point? and this is coming from someone who runs it on x64 Windows 7

I think we're stuck with Schiller until Jobs decides to introduce something evolutionary.

How about this:

Phil Schiller does the whole keynote, until "One more thing?": Steve Jobs enters the stage and the crowd goes wild, standing ovation and all...

Even better, Steve Jobs enters the stage with Paul McCartney and Ringo Star to announce The Beatles on iTunes.

I wonder if the Classic iPod will get the ax. I would like to see a lean and mean iTunes 9. I don't use PPC Macs but I am sure some would like to have it stay Universal for at least another year.

why would anyone buy the Beatles on ITunes? anyone who listens to them probably already has them on CD

I'd so NO. Because these are the higher capacity iPods and the SSD aren't there yet. I love being able to carry my entire library with me. I don't see them dropping that ability.

I believe they were thinking they wanted to make a device that was actually usable? The new interface would be painfully slow on a hard disk. :)

Maybe the last year before we see an all flash memory line-up and the death of the click wheel.

All you collectors out there had better stock up.

The future is touch.

It doesn't matter today or a year from now. The HD based iPod is going away. Chances are they will introduce 64GB iPods this year and next year may be 128GB. Also Apple probably would rather have these people buying apps off the App Store.
