Silly move and symptomatic of Apple's exaggerated sense of its own importance. Trump had a good majority of americans agreeing with him so Apple is now telling most of its customers they are stupid.

The masses, in fact, are stupid. Everyone knows that. Trump is being short-sighted as well as anyone who thinks a ban on those 7 nations will stop terrorism; especially when your consider that those nations had nothing to do with recent terrorist acts in the US. If anything, it will incite more hatred which will lead to more terrorist acts.

As for Apple's exaggerated sense of its own importance, perhaps it's affecting their business and employees? Clearly, there are many, many more against the ban.

I'm all for a tougher screening process and beefing up intelligence to get ahead of terrorists, but this ban was just like Trump's tweets: hasty and not well thought out... not to mention, very un-American.

Misleading since the ban isn't against all immigration. I haven't heard Trump say he was against immigration. My understanding is the EO temporarily restricts just visits from those in select countries the Obama administration determined were at a higher risk of terrorists possibly coming from into the US.
Is there a reason this needed to happen in his first week in office when the majority of his cabinet (including Secretary of State and Attorney General) hadn't been confirmed yet? The answer is of course not. There is no imminent threat to our country (if there was wouldn't the government have raised the terror threat alert to high or whatever) and people aren't pouring in as Trump claims. The idea that it's that easy to get into the United States is nonsense. For refugees the vetting process can sometimes take up to 2 years. Steve Bannon is trying to accumulate more power. The easiest way to do that is to make the country feel unsafe, make the country feel like something really bad is going to happen at any minute and so the government needs more power to keep people safe.

Since when? Trump's approval rating is by far the lowest in history for an incoming president...sitting at 36% and dropping.

It's hard to trust polls from people who were so wrong about the election polls. If you like his policies or don't, he is actually doing what he said he would, which is very rare for any incoming president.

The odd thing to me is that people are saying it is an immigration ban when the majority of countries around the world are still allowed to come to the country and become a citizen if they so choose. The ban is for 7 countries for 90 days and Syrian refugees for 120. No one else is included and people are welcome here otherwise. It's not permanent by any means, and right now is on hold due to the checks and balances we have in place by the constitution.

The news channels would be much better if they would report facts and leave their agendas and opinions aside regardless of the side they agree with.

I guess I'm confused why so many are against the vetting. If we were talking about quarantine for some disease, then people understand it's ok to quarantine all potentials to find the few with the disease. Isn't vetting the same thing... all potentials have to be vetted to find the few who are the problem. It's not about discrimination, it's about protecting the general public. Let me know if my logic is off, cause I wan't to understand.

They were? She won? Um...no, she didn't.

Err, by the measure the polls measure (i.e popular vote). She did.

Because it's against the constitution. Because none of the people from those countries have ever committed terrorism against the US. Because it's against the bible. Because it's against the Statue of Liberty.

So it's 38% approval. Still terrible.

A good number of Americans supporting him? Since apparently I'm not allowed to insult people who just make crap up on this board.... I'll leave it at that.

Don't waste your time responding to people who don't believe FACTS and live in some alternate reality.

This is what's wrong with modern American democracy. Why should the politicians pretend to be just live everyone else. They aren't.

Do you realize Hillary, Obama, and Bernie Sanders are also much smarter and much, much, much richer than you are?

Hamilton warned against Demagogues in the Federalist papers. Now you're parroting political hacks who are saying we should only ever vote for a Demagogue.

Only in America do we celebrate idiocy and want to vote for leaders who are dumber and have less experience than us. I will NEVER understand that logic. It makes stupid people feel superior I guess. I don't want to have a beer or relate to them I expect my leader to be a heck of a lot smarter than me, have reverence and respect for the Office they are running for and, gasp, GASP, have EXPERIENCE.

Funny part is that with current trends, arabic will be the national language of Germany in the near future.

If trends continue, the pendulum presently swinging back in Deutschland is going to swing wide enough to get ugly. They're a full swing and back ahead of the US, but we're on our way.

He is a reflection of your society. Even if there are many educate smart people it appears their weight is not sufficient.

Er, the point being the polls were wrong. Or are you arguing that even when they're wrong they're right? And here I thought weatherman had it good! LOL

The polls are never spot on, there is always a margin of error. That's basic statistics.

Apple has joined 96 other companies in filing a legal brief opposing President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration, Bloomberg reported on Monday.

Other technology companies named in the amicus brief include Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Netflix, Snap, Uber, Twitter, and Intel, with consumer goods companies like Levi Strauss and Chobani also named in the brief. Amazon wasn't listed, with the company's CEO Jeff Bezos already backing the original lawsuit brought by Washington state's attorney general that brought a temporary halt to the immigration ban on Friday.

The brief was filed late Sunday in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, highlighting the importance of immigrants to the economy and for society as a whole, and arguing the unlawfulness of the ban. According to the report, the filing of the brief was originally planned later this week, but the companies involved accelerated efforts over the weekend following other legal challenges to the order.

"The Order represents a significant departure from the principles of fairness and predictability that have governed the immigration system of the United States for more than fifty years," the brief stated. "Immigrants or their children founded more than 200 of the companies on the Fortune 500 list."
The brief comes in support of a lawsuit from Minnesota and Washington states, brought against Trump's controversial executive order temporarily barring citizens of the predominantly Muslim-countries Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen, from entering the U.S.
The filing went on to criticize the Trump administration's handling of the travel ban, claiming that it sows confusion and threatens companies' ability to attract skilled workers in the long run.

Last week, Tim Cook said that Apple was considering its legal options as a way to pressure the Trump administration into rescinding the executive order. Reports later emerged that Apple was involved in collaborative efforts with other tech companies to draft a letter opposing Trump's order, but those discussions rapidly developed into the amicus filing, after Washington state's lawsuit on Friday. The amicus is currently being heard in the ninth circuit court of appeals, a federal court in San Francisco.

That's why all religion is evil.

Multiply that by infinity.

The atrocious things which have been done and are still being done in the name of religion are mind boggling.

And still in this century billions of people fall for this brainwash.

The human psyche can easily be manipulated, hence we get the political "leaders" we deserve!

I wouldn't be so quick to judge. The people living in those countries are no doing so well and you add the fact that the west keeps meddling in Muslim affairs bring in guns and crime to the Muslim countries. Anytime Europeans and descendants are involved in Africa and the Middle East you can pretty much guarantee they are bringing diseases and violence with them and they are looking to take the natural resources away from the locals.

Most Christians and political leaders in this country didn't say squat about the Muslim Mosque shootings. It was barely covered in the news. And I'm sorry but it's crap that just because someone of some nationality does something it's a reflection on EVERYONE and EVERYONE in that nationality, religion must automatically speak out. Why is it, this is ONLY applied to minorities. When white men do something you never hear people saying "Why aren't all white men speaking out."

Actually no, he lost the popular vote and the most recent polls show more disapproval of the travel ban than approval.
