iPad Pro pricing, especially the 13-inch.... £1499 GBP. This device makes even less sense now (spoken as someone who has bought many in the past).

& the HomePod mini, exactly the same hardware since 2020, is now £129 in 2026 vs. £99 at release.

Apple TV w/ ethernet is now £80 more expensive too.

They really should have fought to keep the Neo at $599 (and the entry iPad at $349). They didn’t have a gob of RAM/flash to even pay for and they’re absolutely the gateway drugs.

Professionals (and frankly Disney) who have $2000 for a Studio have $2500 for a Studio. That’s not always the case for a kid working all summer to buy their first MacBook Neo.

I suspect that some of the increases will be a move in advance of new products, so they can say at the launch event that prices won’t increase or will only increase by x.
If so, some people might call that cynical.

these base prices are here to stay even after the chip shortage ends unfortunately
of course. apple could easily absorb the cost. they already make enough profits on their products. they decided it's not worth it anymore so raising prices to protect their precious profits.

if prices come down then yeah they'll just keep selling it at the same price and happily absorb the extra profits.

I don't blame Apple for the price increases, but I think this will ultimately hurt their bottom line. The professionals are gonna do what they need to do, but so much of Apple's customer base are tech enthusiasts (like me) that upgrade at a regular cadence just to have shiny new stuff. This is going to cause of lot of us to rethink our spending habits.

The base 16-inch MBP M5 Max went from CA$5300 to an eye-watering CA$6000 - the base 16-inch M1 Max I'm still using cost ~CA$4300 5 years ago.

It's the standard issue notebook where I work, but I wouldn't be surprised they will just stop buying them at this point and move folks to less powerful models.
