People act like we get a perfect alternative to the candidate they personally hate here in America. In the end, you have to choose between essentially two people. (And a few other third party candidates that really don't have a shot, that hasn't stopped me from voting for them anyway...)May I ask why? Genuine question.
The guy has royally screwed up with breaking campaign promises, failed to fix and also worsened the affordability crisis, etc. It's got to the point where a good chunk of his base ditched him. Does he still have any redeeming qualities? His love for America, sure. But almost everything he has done since this second term is making the country worse. Which is why I'm genuinely puzzled why some are still supporting him.
That's why the disown people who don't like your candidate is so stupid. Like really? It's not like I get to choose the one person who I think could run things. I get candidate a or candidate b. That's it. So if a person really looks at both and likes a even though I like b, I am going to call that person nasty names and disown them? Why? Basically both suck, and you have to try to pick the candidate that you think will suck the least.
For those of us that didn't want either candidate, it's on the parties to get better candidates. The democrat superdelegates absolutely do not help with this process. But neither does the primary process. But even if they fixed all of these things, in the end it's two people.
