RAM is still DDR3! This is only a processor upgrade and 13 inch only quad core. Not a real upgrade at all. I would wait for yet another generation to change.
? You can get a Macbook on sale for ~$800?
Is “I and others” even grammatically correct?
It's called the MacBook.
You know the one without Pro on it.
Indeed it is.Is “I and others” even grammatically correct?
Apple would call that an iPad Pro with a keyboard, wouldn't they?

Battery life and space on a smaller motherboard are the key reasons for that, you will have to wait for Cannon Lake, most likely and denser LP-DDR4 chips.Looks like the 32GB is only for the 15 inch, not available as an option when you buy the 13 inch! WTF!!!!
Indeed it is.
Yes.
I really don’t think so, but what do I know lol. Only insiders at Apple would know and they won’t tell.Do you think there will be a 15" nTB version coming out in a few months?

You only pay 1,700 dollars for a USD1,300 MacBook in Canada? That’s nothing, in Hong Kong they cost over 10,000 dollars.I know what it is and it still costs 1700 in Canada. 1900 w tax. Way too much for a casual use.

Yes, a middle finger to all of those Mac fans who wanted the latest intel processors and 32GB of ram. Because nothing that a i9 6 core, 32Gb of ram, 4tb ssd, with 10 hours of battery life machine can do, can't be done on an iPad Pro...It's an update Apple is hoping will drive iPad sales. And a middle finger to Mac fans.
Ports are not coming back, deal with it or jump ship. The display is brilliant, not sure why the Touch Bar is a dealbreaker for people as it's really not as bad as people say (nor is the keyboard). This is a fantastic update!
This is an instant buy for me. Look out eBay, my 2017 totally pimped out 15" is coming!will anyone updated from a 2017 tho!
Seems to be SOP with Apple.Battery life and space on a smaller motherboard are the key reasons for that, you will have to wait for Cannon Lake, most likely and denser LP-DDR4 chips.
Id be curious to know how many people that bitch and moan about the updates, ever use anywhere near the full potential of their current laptops or will of the new ones... I am going to go out on a limb here and say that probably most don't.
I will say though that the prices are steep but that is not news, and with non pro models, they really don't need to lower the prices, if you want a mac you get a mac, if you don't you don't is what it usually seems to be. Which is why so many people buy them to browse the web and write papers on, they will never use all the power but they want a mac, which is also fine![]()
So if the new keyboard is quieter but still has issues, does a keyboard repair still require replacing the entire top half of the case (for ~$700)? If so, I am not interested. The MB/MBPs really need a redesign to make the keyboard easier to repair.
that's not LPDDR3
"MacBooks aren't 'pro' until they have 32GB of RAM!"
"Oh wait, they have 32GB of RAM? What about i9 processors? Oh really? 4TB storage option? That too, huh. Well...that keyboard still sucks. I am sticking this a Chromebook until they make a REAL laptop. Can I borrow $5 for lunch. I am broke."
bah.
On theater hand, I bought a MB pro YESTERDAY. bah for me too.
I hop th nw MacBook will hav a fixd kyboard!
