Craziest price ever for a Macbook pro

Computers are in a point where most of the people doesnt need update in 5-10 years and apple is going to charge for those 10 years to everyone¡

Dont like? Then buy one of their 4 years old hardware

Couldn't be happier. Here, the VAT free price that Apple charges for that ram is $28 per gigabyte.
Typical price is 1/3rd of it.
Shareholders will thank Apple, once again.

Well its the opposite here in Germany with that VAT. One thing is for sure, once I will stop using my 2010 MBP in 2021, my old economy professor will not slap me in the face. He is busy slapping our brain dead politian's..

Like getting a Core 2 Duo Mac for $2500 when the PC competition was offering Quad Cores for $700?

Exactly what my wife bought after I told her the Mac prices. Well it was 750. :) And there is iCloud for Windows as we found out so lets see what my next laptop will be.

Price is still way too high for the specs.

$1,800 base price for a laptop with an i5 and integrated graphics is just ridiculous.

Agree about the price vs the specs. I love Apple products and the product quality but their high cost just causes me to delay buying a new MBP every three years. My $3,100 super charged MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) runs perfectly so I will hang on a little longer.

Is it ridiculous? What is the pricing for the competition? AKA professional all aluminum laptops?. Keep in mind these integrated graphics are actually much better than other integrated ones. For one it has it's own RAM

Apple: 32 GB. There. Have it. Ya'll happy now?

And 4TB SSD. Finally. I am going to replace my 15" 2012 MBP now...

As far as being happy...more so than before. A 8TB to 16 TB SSD with 64 would make it perfect. Lol...always room for more!

I didn't see the CPU models, but it looks like the high end is the i9 8950HK which seems like a good processor.

Id be curious to know how many people that bitch and moan about the updates, ever use anywhere near the full potential of their current laptops or will of the new ones... I am going to go out on a limb here and say that probably most don't.

I will say though that the prices are steep but that is not news, and with non pro models, they really don't need to lower the prices, if you want a mac you get a mac, if you don't you don't is what it usually seems to be. Which is why so many people buy them to browse the web and write papers on, they will never use all the power but they want a mac, which is also fine :)

I use my MacBook Pro to its full potential, which is why I am happy about having a 6-core processor and 32GB of memory. As part of my work, I have to run a lot of VMs, and those things eat up lots of memory. I need to be able to run the VMs and do everything else I need to do without a huge performance hit. My mid-2015 MacBook Pro does this very well, but I want to do even more. A lot of the time, I won't be using the system fully, but it will be nice to know that when I need to, I can.

This is so tempting! I would love a 13 inch MacBook Pro with the touch bar.

OMG! You actually want a Touch Bar? If you read what a lot of people here are whining about, at Touch Bar is the worst thing on earth. You must be crazy to want one!

Sneaky Apple. Looks like a really decent bump if the keyboard issue was addressed!

EDIT: Wait, looks like 32GB DDR4 is only available on the 15-inch, and not the new quad core 13-inch... That's going to make some people angry :/

Everything makes people angry...can't please everyone.

I have been testing a 15" MBP for a month or so at work (as my primary computer) and it has been just fine for me. I like the volume and brightness adjustments, ease of selecting saved passwords, and the fingerprint sensor. The only annoyance for my workflow is accidentally hitting the Esc key every so often. Not everyone hates the Touch Bar.

Anybody besides me hoping that Apple is putting out feelers to see how many will upgrade and if demand is low, they will upgrade nTB version aswell? Wishful thinking I know. Damn this relationship is abusive.

I know a lot of Mac users in the office, none of them have been waiting for or care about the Touch Bar.

Like for me, Magsafe and ports are much more important.

Magsafe is gone. We have to deal with that. If you want a computer with a magnetic power adapter go with a Surface device. Ports are going away from most laptops. We beg for thin they are giving us thin. Something has to go. And the Touch Bar is just a new "feature" for the Pro models...some people like it some don't. I bet non-Touch Bar MBP models will eventually go away.

I wonder how many non-Touch Bar they have actually sold compared to Touch Bar models? Maybe they are phasing them out because they haven't sold well?

The Touch Bar is plain dumb in a Pro model - these people know how to touch-type fast to write.

The removal of the Esc key is the Apple equivalent of the Microsoft control-alt-del millstone.

Everyone told me having a Touch Bar was so unnecessary and useless and a waste of money. Oddly enough, it may be my personal favorite feature on my 13" 2017 MBP. Just being able to use TouchID to unlock the laptop and for purchases is awesome, and the fact that I can customize it with BetterTouchTool makes it even cooler. Love it.

Apple has done it again for the Macbook Pro - upgrade the Touch Bar version’s only! The non Touch Bar models do not get the upgrade! Apple has decide to phase the non touch bar MacBook Pro version out of their inventory! LOL!

Apple's commitment to only using GTe3 integrated graphics is the reason why updates have been slow. However, they are unable to convince their customers of this fact apparently.
