Apple Launches Back to School Promo: Free iPod Touch with Mac Purchase

This is how I got my iPod Nano 2nd gen. I like this promo.

Also, eligibility is possible for some military programs.
 
Does anybody expect a new Macbook update in June or July? In the past they have updated the Macbooks for students coming into the next year.

Not only in the US, Canada, too.

This is an extra little bit of encouragement for me to go for a certain part-time distance-ed teaching gig. Because even part-timers are faculty (at least in Canada, your local mileage may vary).

Except there are already twice as many iPods in my family as there are people.
Yeah, I know: Craigslist.

If you're going to want to know more about rumors on hardware that's where it's going to be.
 
So can we purchase the computer and itouch at a store such as best buy or does it have to be through the apple store?
 
Homeschool?

From the 2nd paragraph of the details PDF: "Any employee of a public or private K–12 institution or Qualifed Homeschoolers in the United States or District of Columbia are eligible." So its not only college then is it?
 
I'd have thought a deal with AT&T to have AT&T fork over the extra hundred bucks to make that buy a Mac and get a free iPhone would have been a coupe de grace in the smartphone wars. As obvious a deal that would have been in the current market, I guess this is an indicator that Apple's very comfortable with iPhone sales and the sales estimates for the imminent release of the new iPhone.

The promos usually are also available in Germany. However, the one in 2007 did not start until August and lasted into October, I think. So, you have to wait a bit, but might be lucky that it includes recently refreshed Apple products that the US promo will not cover...
 
Do you seriously think apple would do it?

I mean, suppose apple suddenly decided to replace the penryn with the montevina in July, DURING the BTS promotion, how mad/angry would students be? It would almost be like apple is using students as tools to offload old stock so that they can prepare to launch the new models!!!!
I may be wrong, but I would really hate apple for doing that!!!!!!!!

But they've done exactly that in previous years.

After Jobs' keynote at WWDC next week I'm ordering a 24" iMac, plus a 16GB iPod Touch for $100. :)
 
:confused: no way! I just ordered an iMac on Saturday and didn't see the option to get a free ipod. Is there a way I can qualify for it still????
