Actually, they won't. My question is why do Nanos only get $199 off while Touches get $299? If a college student gets this deal just to sell the iPod on eBay/Craigslist, they can get the iPod Touch and get $100 more or whatever. Or maybe just make the rebate $199 for any kind of iPod (nano, classic, touch).
Do you have proof of this? I purchased mine on the 24th.
To avoid a restocking fee, do not open the box when you get it. Arrange for a return, then once it's complete, repurchase.
If you ordered from Apple, assuming it wasn't a config to order, you can return it to an Apple retail store and they'll return and resell on the spot with the iPod.
so if i buy two macs to do get two ipods?
Or is it a one per customer stipulation? I don't see anywhere where it says that
no way! I just ordered an iMac on Saturday and didn't see the option to get a free ipod. Is there a way I can qualify for it still????
"...may purchase an 8GB ($299), 16GB ($399), or 32GB ($499) iPod Touch to receive a $299 rebate. "
does that mean you pretty much get an 8GB ipod touch for free???
Do they even make a 17" iMac?

When I purchased my MBP in March, that is what they did with me when I went back in to get the free printer.
I mean, suppose apple suddenly decided to replace the penryn with the montevina in July, DURING the BTS promotion, how mad/angry would students be? It would almost be like apple is using students as tools to offload old stock so that they can prepare to launch the new models!!!!
I may be wrong, but I would really hate apple for doing that!!!!!!!!
They should do this offer in the UK as well. Would go down very well.
yeah man. isn't that cool? but if you are getting an 3G iphone i guess the ipod touch is useless.
I wondering if the $299 can be applied to an iPhone?
So was I. I was REALLY hoping it would be... Oh well, I guess no iMac for me. Just wait for the iPhone.
