+1 for the iPhone 6 front facing camera sliding out of position #crescentgate. Apple should recall the iPhone 6 in space gray as it's clearly a widespread issue. Mine has it, several of my friends, and there are numerous forums online with users experiencing the issue.

Possibly, but who's to say that new iPhone won't have more problems like scratches or dead pixels? I've had a lot of issues in the past.

Assuming it's a "new" phone it's either refurbished (will look and feel brand new) or a brand new phone. In either case, you won't have a dead pixel out of the box and it won't be scratched.

I had this problem with my first 6+ which was replaced a couple days ago because of a display issue. The new phone is or appears to be brand new. No issues with the camera, no scratches, perfect display. My experience with several iPhones and multiple Macs has been that if your device is going to have an issue, you'll likely get it within the first few months. There are an unlucky few who experience just-out-of-warranty issues but I'd say they're in the minority.

Macrumors just takes someone's photo off of Apples support forum and reposts?
Who knows. My photos didn't look like that. The photo in the article looks more like a motion blur from moving too much while taking the photo. My camera literally had a Gaussian blur when it was blurry (~50% of the time when opening the camera app). My fix? Just knock the phone slightly on something hard (knuckles, desk, etc.) which always fixed the issue. The common suspicion is that the optical image stabilization feature was somehow interfering with auto-focus.

Well, these issues are evident on any phone. The difference is Apple will fix the issue.

I bought my first MacBook last year for school because I knew if I ever had any problems I could just mail it in to Apple versus an Asus laptop that if ever wavered I'd have to send overseas.
So what you are saying is that it's ok to ship junk as long as they fix it at some stage down the line, and hopefully don't just tell you that erm, I don't know... Holding it wrong..

I suspect pretty much anyone who bought an iPhone 6 Plus between these months is eligible. It's always a "small number affected," because the number of units sold between September 2014 and January 2015 IS small compared to the rest of the year - as a percentage. Let me go check my phone...

Yep, eligible to be fixed. No surprise. I suspect this "small number" is many, MANY millions of iPhone 6 Plus units.

The small number means, a small number of those phones in that period have the issue. If you don't have it, they obviously don't fix it. The number of phones sold from Sept 2014 to Jan 2015 is likely 30-40% of yearly total, not really a small percentage.

The 5 had the battery and the power button, 6 had the moving front cam, 6 plus iSight, when will this stop ?

When everyone (not just Apple) stops making electronics. It's a fact of life. You manufacture and sell tens or hundreds of millions of devices some of them are going to have issues. Sometimes it's a tiny number. Sometimes it's a batch run. It's a given. What is important is what companies do about it. By and large Apple does much, much better than any other electronics company when it comes to supporting their products. Whether it be on a one-by-one basis, or when a larger "recall" situation occurs.

If you want something that is not ever going to have any of the issues that sometimes come with electronics, go down to to the lumber store, pick out the cleanest, nicest 1x4 piece of lumber you can find, have them cut a 5 inch block of it off, sand off all of the splinters, and put it in your pocket. You will never have any screen issues, battery issues, camera issues, memory issues or overheating issues.

Oh! I kept having problems with my iPhone 6's front-facing camera. Never damaged it but I went through 2 different iPhones, currently it's working okay on my 3rd one. Same with a friends iPhone 6.

Mine is eligible. I was going to bring it at one point as quite often the camera was going wacky. I'd be in the camera app holding the phone still and the image would be shaking like crazy. Gave me the impression that the OIS was not performing properly. But most of the time it has been fine.

The serial number you entered is not eligible under this program because either:
- It’s not in the affected serial number range.

When do these affected people got their phones? I got mine in December.

That means your batch isn't affected. I guess certain September 2014 to January 2015 batches

- Our records show that your iSight camera has already been replaced.
- Our records show it’s no longer eligible for a free replacement under this program. If you have questions, please contact Apple.

Cool. I had my original 6+ replaced when it red'screened so guess I missed this one.

Nice to see Apple stand behind their products in this case.

10,000 miles is a small distance in relation to the size of the universe.

It won't, it's why I won't buy iPhone, unless they drop in price. My devices history is, iPhone 3GS had the plastic cracks by the volume keys, iPhone 4 had the home button start to fail although that was after several months and it's the best iPhone they ever made. iPhone 5 had the power button fail...

My nexus 5 I bought when it was launched, nothing's broken and it's been dropped a few times. And it cost I think £200 to £250 less than an iPhone..

BUT..

Whilst this is now another infamous 'known Apple issue' then it is good they will fix it. Apple are good at fixing known issues. Perhaps they should have them made in America instead of China?

Not just the SG models, and not just the 6 either. My space grey 6 Plus is starting to show a crescent on the camera and so is my father's silver 6.
