That URL could very possibly get people in to Mobile Me. Can anyone who already has an account try it out?
No luck. apple.com/mobileme

Did not. I was able to put in my username/password, but afterward it took me back to the marketing page...
I don't know if this has been linked to already or not, but MacWorld has a direct link to the MobileMe.pkg on Apples servers. I saw the update via the updater tool at home, but not at work on my laptop. One of the comments to the story state that this is for Leopard only. Anyway, just relaying the info.

The iPhone 3G still hasn't gone on sale yet in 90% of the world, so it's hardly what you would call a disastrous launch yet at this point. Try having a little patience and hopefully the kinks will get ironed out here in the next couple of hours.

You contradict yourself in your post. In the first part you say that it's not a load issue, then in the second half you claim that with a new iPhone launch we might see a surge of demand that they cannot handle.

Yeah, I saw that in one of Neowin's threads.I don't know if this has been linked to already or not, but MacWorld has a direct link to the MobileMe.pkg on Apples servers. You need another identifier at the end. Thats not the whole url.
So, I was looking around in the source code and this is what I found.
How are the iPhone users supposed to access mobileme if its not supported??![]()
I'll remind everyone that when the iTunes Music Store first launched, the servers were so slammed that many people couldn't buy any music the first day. It happens, but it hardly turned out to be a "disaster."
Not sure the rest of the URL is all that important, apart from the destination piece.
&returnURL={bunch of chars}&destinationUrl=/idisk
How do I get the apps I downloaded onto my ipod touch? It doesn't seem to want to let me do that.
And for a company like Apple that sells itself on "just working", I'd say it is a pretty big F-up
So far the apps seem pretty BLAH. Hoping to see a good fitness tracker and something from the NFL and NHL soon.
The date that MobileMe was going to go LIVE, was on Apples website all this time. From the first time they posted the page about Mobile Me. It was in their Logo for MobileMe all along. Look at the icon for the Calendar, it says "Tuesday 9".
I didn't catch it. Honestly, did anyone else?
