If the battery hasn't changed, will the Touch 7 have a worse battery problem then the Touch 6 ?

It shouldn’t. If you go back and watch the Keynote where the iPhone 7 was revealed, Apple made a lot of focused points about battery life improvements. The low power cores in this device are supposed to use 1/5 of the power of the A8 chip. Also, graphics run at about half the power usage. They promised roughly 2 hours more a day of battery life with an iPhone 7 versus an iPhone 6s which had the A9 chip which was already more efficient than the A8. I’m hoping that it makes a considerable, but not groundbreaking, change in battery life.

I think there's a better chance of riding a unicorn into the sunset while being chased by bigfoot on the back of an Articuno then everything you just posted here.

I chuckled at this mental image.

I don't get the crying regarding this device. It's perfect for anyone(e.g me) who wants a separate device for his media. This is a perfect PMP at a reasonable price. I have plenty local music that I would love to listen on the go (many of them are indie music so they arenot available on either Spotify or Apple Music) without using my main phone's memory. Only grip is that it doesn't support FLAC out of the box, but then you can install VLC, which makes it a minor issue. Heck they could have even gotten rid of the camera and I wouldn't have minded anything.

$129 would be a good price, IMO. seriously i'm still not getting the idea how big the market is for this device today? yes, some programmer might purchase it for code test or whatever, but who else would choose the touch? for the kids, the iPad mini would be better, right?

Believe what you want to believe.  uses parts it used time & money to specialize & the A10 is an excellent processor. If you want EXTREME go buy a generic 10GB ram chinese phone. They will sell it to you for a few dollars.

You clearly know nothing about phones. This Redmi Note 5 with 4GB of RAM perform beautifully. Still better buy than the new iPod Touch. Stuck with a data only SIM, get myself a mini tablet.

And yet..... you're on an Apple forum. And yet.... millions of these will sell. If people wanted a piece of crap Android for $250, they'd buy one - and there are people who do. For people who want better, Apple will be their choice.

Apple makes solid devices that last a long time that don't need bleeding edge technology to provide a far better user experience than most other devices, all the while not selling every action you do to every ad company willing to pay $.

Right. The 6th generation iPad Touch lags really badly since iOS 9. That this g has been in my drawer for more than 2 years now.

For people who looking for the best deal, iPad Touch is terrible deal, unless you wait for deep discount.

Apple, you're too serious.

Being so big, so complex, criticised & sued from all sides, little wonder...

Bring back the fun in your hardware, i.e: more value than the customer expects.

I would offer a 2nd model, 4.7" with Touch ID.

They already offer that. It comes with the same CPU, Touch ID, 4.7” screen, twice as much RAM and a much better camera + cellular access. Apple sells it for $449.

All that and it’s half as thick as an iPhone? Do you have a link?

I don't know what's the purpose of this product these days when you can buy an iPad for a little more and have more features and benefits. Even for a kid the iPad or iPad mini is a better choice IMO.

This only means that iOS 13 will not be on the 6, 6s and SE...
If Apple drops the 6s/SE and says only the A10 or above can handle iOS 13, it will probably be a lie. They’re just trying to get back at all of the 6s people who upgraded their batteries last year. Tim Cook - thought you were smart upgrading your battery for only 30 bucks, enjoy iOS 12 sucker! Does anyone know how much RAM the 7th gen iPod touch is getting?

I'd be surprised if the 6s is not supported for iOS 13. It would mean this phone will have 4 years of update support instead of the minimum of 5. Considering this phone is still performing very well, taking the risk to have bad press is not a good idea when just last year 5S had 6 years of support.

Kids. iPad mini isn’t as portable can’t put it in your pocket.

The battery life should be better than the last gen touch for two main reasons:
  1. the CPU is faster, so it'll get back to doing nothing faster,
  2. see #1.
The general power philosophy of the whole iOS line was to get back to idle as fast as possible, so we get to see the impact of that because theoretically the only thing that changed was the CPU.

Anyone know if it has 2 or 3GB of RAM? I am still surprised Apple only upgraded to the A10. I wonder if it would have been possible to at least use the A11 with the same design and still keep the $199 starting price.

Knowing how Apple skimps on specs you'll be lucky to get even 2GB DRAM.

A modded SSD 256 or even 512 gb iPod Classic on eBay, with a 3000 mAh battery option (900/1000 songs listened on every charge cycle) would be cheaper, at least here in Europe. And in my humble opinion, with a better DAC. If it is only music you’re talking about. Obviously ALAC and not FLAC files

Well no, if it was pointless and not making Apple money long term, then they wouldn’t keep it around. The reality is, the iPod Touch is a completely different product that suits a different demographic. Maybe that’s what you’re failing to see. Is that this is a perfect device for a teenager or someone that doesn’t want to bring their phone into the gym with them, that’s smaller, includes a 3.5 mm Jack and runs iOS. I mean, I would rather have an iPod touch versus some cheap laggy android device.

Amature talk. iOS lacks bit perfect original master recording MQA and the best apps on the planet USB Audio Player and Poweramp.

iOS lacks bit perfect original master recording

Two things:

1.) Can you indicate to me anywhere that the average consumer who uses an iPod touch cares anything about ‘original master recording’. I think you’re reaching really hard, and it’s not really proving anything for the demographic that actually wants an iPod touch that I already mentioned.

2.) It’s apparent others don’t agree with your assertions, at least based in this thread on your opinions on the iPod touch.

Uhhh why do all those those kids in that facetime screenshot look like they are high?

The new Touch is a good solution for people with kids, but I would like to see the Nano 6th Gen back with a couple new features, like smaller bezels, round corners screen and oled screen and maybe with something like Watch OS. That was the best design for the iPod Nano! That'd be great for people that can't own an Apple Watch and the Airpods and like to go for a run.

This is a scam product. Youre paying for a 2012 design with a little bit updated specs. Cheaper android phones have smaller bezels than this crap.
