It's so ugly, I wonder what the designers of the product were thinking when they came up with it. When we complained about Apple being too "form over function" no one meant make something hideous yet useful.

For millions and millions of users, the iPhone is a work tool, nothing more and nothing less. It simply doesn't matter what it looks like.
And because of Apple not taking care of aesthetics and design, at least before Steve passed, it went so successful... sorry, that's bs...

So sad and subtly done by 
I feel like Steve was  himself. Everyone else were followers. I have yet to look forward to a smart phone that I need charge twice a week at most.

This looks crap and rushed. And definitely an admittance to inferior battery life.

oops. It posted twice due to my great AT&T connection. Sorry.

Wonder for how long they think something will just because it has an Apple logo.... they are really trying hard to find out, first it was the new mouse and it's charging port, then the dock for the watch and now this monstrosity....

Get over it. No one's making you buy it.
I was commenting on the fact that since it is a work tool doesn't have to look good... thank you for your "wiseness" i now know i can decide not to buy and that you allow that (and it's definitely what i will do).

And a Godsend (what God do you believe in?? it's not like there were no batteries before......funny how you are entitled to your opinion yet do not allow others to have their own.

I'm guessing a lot of the negative comments are coming from the existing battery case makers(employees). That and the usual trolls.

Or simply from people who like things that both works well and look good.(one does NOT make the other impossible, and Apple usually is king in getting both right!!).

If i was closed minded like you i could say, I am guessing the positive comments comes from people who would buy anything with an Apple attached to it, but the reality is that we all like different things.

"This is the beginning of the end."

That was my very first thought when seeing this case. I realize that's quite a jump to make, but that was my initial, honest reaction. What has happened to Apple's design team? Or has Ahrents been given her own B-Team to pump out accessories? This doesn't mesh with the iPhone design language at all. Couldn't they have at least smoothed out the edges of the bump but kept it flat so it doesn't wobble? Maybe put the unsightly charge indicators on the bottom or back—or, you know, at least center them? Makes it looks like an uneven, shoddy android device.

I think the reason it sets off alarms in my head is that it looks like Apple sacrificed design in favor of profits—and that is a sign of a company changing their core beliefs for the worse. Apple has always been about maximizing profits, but not by making a crappy product. They would have charged $150 to design it properly if they had to. Where is their craftsmanship? I'm afraid Jony is less involved in day to day operations than we're being led to believe. Fortunately, it's not too late to change course. A few years ago their retail division was headed in the wrong direction when they decided to hire that bozo and they canned him and made things better. But this just reminds me of Apple in the 90s and the oddball stuff they would come out with. Yikes.
Where have you been for the last 5 years? Beats Music purchase, Apple Watch, Apple Music, musical guests at the end of every keynote presentation, etc. it's been obvious for years that Tim Cook doesn't have vision and is running the company into the ground one bit at a time.

You know there is quite a good reason for the Lightning Port placement on Magic Mouse 2, right?
Or would you prefer a Mouse looking like this...

And we can probably rest assured the seemingly odd shape of the battery case is well thought through and has a very good reason.

I would be okay with a slightly thicker iPhone with a better battery out of the gate as opposed to having to use this add-on; to me the aesthetics of the former are much better than the latter. I wonder if Jobs would have approved this design?... It looks like a solid solution, but it's the principle I guess. ;)

I wonder if the battery back is in the middle so it's more comfortable to hold in landscape?

I wouldn't mind a slightly thicker phone to hold a bigger battery but I'm not sure I'd like the extra weight.

As some people believes in here, it's a tool, a work tool so it is entitled to look bad if it works....

Again in reality there were other ways to make it look good and work well, inductive charging might have been one!

A possible reason might be that it feels thinner that way. Also I could imagine that this terraced design won't look as odd in your pocket as a plain flat thick case. Might also be easier to grab. Another reason probably is not making the phone itself seem thick, and embracing the function (extra battery) in form also.

Those are all good reason I give you that but i am sure in Cupertino there are very talented designers who could have accomplished that in a "better way", and i appreciate your positive way of replying (compared to some others).

We can all have different opinion and live happy together, BIG thumbs up for you!
