why are the "favorites" in the finder on the left now above the devices like macintosh ssd etc... this totally confuses me. any way to reverse?

and then my library in /users/ is gone..? invincible folder?

So can I copy the installer from applications from one mac to another and install? I want to upgrade both, not do a bootable copy and wipe my files off either one.

Lion is Awesome

Just finished downloading and so far the OS looks awesome! My computer is a lot faster now with it rather than Snow Leopard. I recommend that everyone that can update as soon as you can!:)

Downloaded in Australia

I just managed to download it Australia. I just finished installing into my MacBook Air.

It looks like for the time being you just have to keep on trying to purchase the upgrade every now and then. You get lucky if you keep trying.:)

I also chose to upgrade my Mac OS X Server (still waiting for the download to finish). I'm surprised that it forced me to buy Lion again, even though I had already purchased it for my MacBook Air!!??

Does anyone know what city and state to use when registering for the Up to Date program?

Would people please stop posting that they bought Lion and stop posting downlaod progress and focus on impressions, performance, complaints, etc. Nobody cares that you are downloading Lion.

I know people always talk about it, but for me Safari is now making Firefox look like a slouch. It's been ages since I used it, as it really used to drag it's heals.

Something interesting about Mission Control is that, in part, it seems to remember certain settings from Spaces. I always opened Photoshop in my 4th space and Illustrator in my 5th (I used 6 spaces). When I first booted up I had 6 Desktops in my Mission Control and Photoshop immediately loaded into the 4th Desktop. Spaces was one of my favourite features so I'm glad that a certain amount of usability has been conserved.

Weird.....

So I went to the App Store and downloaded Lion, went through the Install process, then my MBP restarted.

Once it restarted, everything looked the same before I did everything. Could it be because I already had the GM?

first lion question- page back in safari

My first "oh no" moment in Lion. Installed on my Air (and iMac) this morning.

Up and running. Question: I used to be able to swipe to the left on the trackpad to go back a web page. This no longer works in Lion for me.

Please tell me I don't have to navigate the cursor to the back arrow in the top left corner of Safari to go back a page.....

Can anyone help?

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-20080981-17/mac-os-x-lion-pounces/

This article references a flash drive that Apple will start selling next month:
The Mac OS X Lion upgrade is available in the Mac App Store for $29.99 as a 3.49GB download. Next month, Apple plans to make the operating system available on a USB thumb drive for $69.

Has anybody seen this elsewhere? They seem to be the only ones making that statement (that I can find, anyway :) )

Does anybody know if the installation plays a welcome video? I'm in class and don't want to disturb anyone with that loud welcome song. :)

Two finger swipe left or right goes forward or back a page for me.

Up To Date...

Has anyone actually gotten the Up-To-Date program to work? If so, when was your purchase date?

This is VERY annoying... I know it's "Day 1" but ugh...

This thread is pure garbage.

People posting updates about "I just started downloading"

"I just installed it 10-15 minutes"

LOOK we dont care that you are downloading it or installing it.
You want to announce to the world your ahcievement go to twitter or facebook.

How about we concentrate on how well LION is working or whats new and different from GM if any changes were made?

I DONT CARE THAT YOUR DOWNLOADING IT AND THAT YOUR PISSED BECAUSE IT IS GOING SLOW.

Make this thread informative not full of ****.
