Two finger swipe left or right goes forward or back a page for me.

Wow- thanks! I realized that I was just swiping the wrong direction, lol.

Gotta say, the new swipe looks better, too.

I hate to admit how excited I've been over this new OS- I lurk here quite a bit, but this stuff is addicting as heck.

Thank you for the assistance.

In the Finder, under the Go menu->Go to Folder, enter ~/Library

Show User ~/Library in OS X Lion
Launch Terminal from Spotlight or Launchpad -> Utilities, and enter the following command to show or hide the directory:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/

The users Library folder will immediately become visible again. Reverting this back to the standard Lion setting is simple too:

Hide User ~/Library in OS X Lion (default setting)
This returns to the default setting of hiding the user Library directory:
chflags hidden ~/Library

As much as it is killing me I'm waiting it out on this one. Want to see if people have any major problems right out of the gate before I buy it. From what I heard of the GM it seems to be rather stable but I've survived with SL this long so I can wait a few more days for some reviews of Lion.

Yeah, me too. I really want to see if there are many general issue and what the compatibility of existing apps is. I've got CS3 and don't want to upgrade just for a new system. Also a lot of other smaller apps I can't live without - Audacity, Audio Hijack Pro, Bullet FTP, etc.

Look forward to peoples reports.

This thread is pure garbage.

People posting updates about "I just started downloading"

"I just installed it 10-15 minutes"

LOOK we dont care that you are downloading it or installing it.
You want to announce to the world your ahcievement go to twitter or facebook.

How about we concentrate on how well LION is working or whats new and different from GM if any changes were made?

I DONT CARE THAT YOUR DOWNLOADING IT AND THAT YOUR PISSED BECAUSE IT IS GOING SLOW.

Make this thread informative not full of ****.

15 minutes ago, I started thinking about downloading Lion today.

Just downloaded it. Burning the .dmg to a DVD now. Will do the normal upgrade when that's done. If i like it - i'll use the DVD to do a clean installation.

They're the same -- GM dev and final release

The md5 sum of both the GM developer release and the final release I've just downloaded match.

In other words, they're identical, regardless of the version numbers being reported.

Code:
md5 /Users/r-sparks/Desktop/InstallESD.dmg
MD5 (/Users/r-sparks/Desktop/InstallESD.dmg) = b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a

md5 /Applications/Install\ Mac\ OS\ X\ Lion.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg
MD5 (/Applications/Install Mac OS X Lion.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg) = b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a

After 45 minutes on the phone with tech support, they confirmed the issue and said it's a problem with their backend servers, blah, blah, blah. Said they are entering serial numbers and that the issue would be resolved in 24 hours. Said they won't reimburse me if I purchase from the App Store.

The same happen to me... According to the Tech support Lady, they will reimburse me the $30.
She said it would take at least 24 hrs to show back up in my iTunes account (I got that $100 back-to-school promotion card). Lets see what happens

Trying the Up-to-date way. Keeps telling me my serial number isn't recognized, also, if I bought thru apple online, what city state should i put. First time mac upgrader, all help appreciated fellas.

If Snow Leopard is working fine, what's the big incentive to upgrade to Lion? A 4GB download and operating system upgrade doesn't sound like fun to me.

My install Bar has been on the beginning for a while now, anyone else has same problem..

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_4 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8K2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Okay, I finished download Lion, but after my MacBook restarted it now seems to be stuck on the Install screen. It's been at About 33 minutes for the last 10 minutes.

No idea what to do. Advice needed please!

It is shinier but I prefer the old Exposé and the ability to revert back to Exposé classic.
