The md5 sum of both the GM developer release and the final release I've just downloaded match.

In other words, they're identical, regardless of the version numbers being reported.

Code:
md5 /Users/r-sparks/Desktop/InstallESD.dmg
MD5 (/Users/r-sparks/Desktop/InstallESD.dmg) = b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a

md5 /Applications/Install\ Mac\ OS\ X\ Lion.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg
MD5 (/Applications/Install Mac OS X Lion.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg) = b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a

... if the version number was different, wouldn't the checksum be different?

Trying the Up-to-date way. Keeps telling me my serial number isn't recognized, also, if I bought thru apple online, what city state should i put. First time mac upgrader, all help appreciated fellas.

You can put your own city and state. However, the UptoDate program doesn't appear to be working right now, so hold tight. Keeps rejecting everyone's serial numbers...

installed lion......issues so far....

1. Can't keep widgets on desktop anymore.....UGH!!!
2. Logitech MX Performance Mouse scroll is now reversed.....cant fix....UGH.

More i am sure....

Okay, I finished download Lion, but after my MacBook restarted it now seems to be stuck on the Install screen. It's been at About 33 minutes for the last 10 minutes.

No idea what to do. Advice needed please!

Exactly same problem!!

Ouch

I got 'gut-punched' when I tried to download it to my Macbook Pro. Core 2 Duo or better. It really sucks to find out your machine is dead to Apple. 'I loved you Fredo'.

Yep posted this earlier:

Also, if yu bought on the Online Store, what are you suppose to put in the City and State location of the store, which it still demands.

UPDATE** On the phone with Apple Sales and they have not been able to verify that there is a problem with the online form even though i walked them through it step by step and verified that it does not recognize my two iMac serial numbers, which were purchased on June 21st! Their only suggestion is to try again in 24 hours! HOWEVER, they did credit $50.00 to the account I paid for my iMacs with so I hereby delete my nasty comment about them.

My install is also going slowly. It is progressing, but is taking 2x-3x longer than the onscreen estimate. This is on a mid-2010 i7 MacBook Pro.

I'd suggest just letting the installer continue to run. You should see some progress, but don't be surprised if it's slow.

Woooh!

In the Finder, under the Go menu->Go to Folder, enter ~/Library

Easier solution, hold down the option key and click on the go window and library appears.

If you want a more permanent solution, use these in terminal.

Show Library chflags nohidden ~/Library/
Hide Library chflags hidden ~/Library/

Okay, luckily it doesn't seem to be entirely stuck. It just to 15 minutes to go from 33 to 32 minutes. Good Lord... :/

From the Press Release

Yep I read that a few minutes ago after buying it on the app store. Does it excuse bad service? if its available for download I have the right to expect it to download in a reasonable time limit ...NO?

That certainly is not 149 days to download 4GB using a fibre cable connection.

Anyone with a Synology Diskstation NAS needs to update their diskstation software to the beta version of 3.2. 10.7 will not work properly without that update (no AFP, Time Machine, etc). You can get info on it here: http://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?f=116&t=39197

Thanks for the info!

I guess I've gotta sort out this Diskstation beta on my Synology NAS -- and the Boxee release-candidate firmware on my D-Link Boxee Box -- before upgrading to OS X Lion . . . Damn. PITA

Here's one more way if you don't feel comfortable with Terminal:

1. In the Finder, under the Go menu->Go to Folder, enter ~/Library
2. Drag the Library folder onto your Finder sidebar

Mine is 32 minutes now also.

For $30 I'm definitely buying this. No pirating. Thank you apple for such a great price. Hope my little bit of money encourages you to realize how important the Mac is to me and your business. I hope others do the same.
