Did anyone get the notification email yet???????????????
How long is the download taking for people with fast connections?
Anyone managed to make a bootable DVD with the Lion installer DMG on in?
I bought an early 2011 MBP when they first came out. Am I eligible for a free copy of the new OS?
Yes, the thing out of the gate that was just confusing my eye-hand coordination was the scrolling - both on a MacBook Air touchpad and a Mac Pro with a Wacom mouse with a scroll wheel. This is the "natural" movement as Apple phrases it, but it's the opposite of a scroll bar movement and the old gesture on a track pad - i.e. where you would grab a scroll bar and pull down to move down a page, the default gesture would have you flick your two fingers up / roll your mouse scroll wheel up rather than down.
Mice - To fix this, you can go into the System Preferences and for a scroll mouse deselect the "Move content in direction of finger movement when scrolling or navigating.
Gesture Trackpads - again in System Preferences under "Trackpad" - "Scroll & Zoom" - deselect the "Scroll direction: natural".

I have performed a clean install using a boot disk. Be patient, the installer takes awhile to load. Once it starts a window will appear that gives you several options. Choose the disk utilities to erase, close once that is complete, return to the window and choose the option to reinstall Mac OS X. This starts the install process.
This is a nightmare.
So far today i have bought Lion and Lion server twice. Once today and once on the 16th July ????????. Cannot download as app store keeps reporting an error has occurred. Or sit there waiting then reports an error. My Broadband connect is 33Meg so i cannot blame that.
Come back DVD
I think one thing that is throwing me off a bit is that you still see the scroll bars moving traditionally if you will. I think the new direction is as logical if not more than the old convention but seeing the old way throws me in the old automatic response. Is there a way to hide scroll bars forever? Don't know if I would like that but would be nice to experiment with..
I'm not sure how much clearer I can make it.
Once again....
The GM developer release from earlier this month and the release now being sold via the App Store ARE IDENTICAL.
I've confirmed this by comparing the MD5 sum of the main installer (InstallESD.dmg) within BOTH the GM dev release and the current release. The md5 sums are identical, meaning they are the exact same package.
I reverted back to Snow Leopard last night. Lion is not my cup of tea.
I bought a new Macbook pro that is eligible for the free Lion upgrade.
I also have an iMac and my husband's Macbook. Do I need to pay for the upgrade for those two or will I be able to use the same download from the new Macbook Pro?
I don't mind paying but I know that you only have to buy one license for all of your Macbooks and if the free one will work I don't want to buy another if it is not necessary.
