1Password works fine on the iMac, but not with Safari on the MBP for some reason.

I can't open PDFs in Safari on the MBPro either. Not good, that seemed like an obvious thing to check.

Took about 30 minutes to download and 30 minutes to install.

A couple of things.

Installed/upgraded onto a 2011 iMac. Everything went smooth. The computer dragged a bit after bootup into Lion (the hard drive was working pretty hard). After about 10 minutes things starting speeding up.

Needed to update Logmein right off the bat so I can access remotely. If you don't, you will get a blank screen on the remote device.

I like the new mail. Pretty slick and looks good.

Got an error saying that the Seagate NotificationExec is incompatible with Lion. That's makes no sense at all especially since this is a 2011 iMac.

I turned off the new scrolling immediately. That's going to take some getting use to but not on the first day.

Gonna really dig in tonight to see what else I can find.

After installing Lion, Time Machine needed to do a 10GB backup.

Mission Control and Launchpad. Very cool! You guys will like it.

Has a somewhat iOS feel to it while still retaining the "old" look. Not a bad transition.

Now the usual question... (no, no, it's a real question!)

It was probably already answered in the previous 689 posts but what if I bought a computer early in July, is there a special way the get the "free" upgrade since the computer was bought after Lion was announced? Is the MAS will be clever enough to know this?

(I'm sorry, I'm not in from of my Mac right now son I can't check it out by myself)

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry... I should have tried Google first

A single page in this thread yields 5 posts of utter nonsense. This thread is now 30 pages long, so a quick analysis says 150 of these posts are from yahoos telling us that they are downloading this update.

Hey Mark, drop dead. This is part of what this thread is about. Don't like it , don't read it.

You get a redemption code here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/

but it's not working for most people right now due to server issues...

no problem downloading and installing.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the utility of mission control, gestures, and full-screen apps (expectation being that they had 0 utility).

Hey man, I care about rat's behinds! Rat poop means theres rats and rats mean diseases and infestations, so don't you dare say for a second that nobody gives a rat's behind.

It's always nice playing with new features.

Two things are irritating me so far:

You can't rename folders in Launchpad, or I can't figure out how.

Trackpad settings won't stay put -- they stop working for no reason. I have to turn them off and back on to get them to work.

Otherwise, I'm enjoy the new features.

Has anyone with this release tested if Lion works ok with Core 2 Duo and 2GB RAM? As its meets the minimal requirement, would want to know if things run ok with this config.

1Password

Thanks for the suggestions on the Safari extension and yes, I already tried it. I get the "beach ball" when trying to install. Any other thoughts?

Also strange is 1Password asks for Master Password visiting a website (top bar) even though it is already open. I am thinking a disconnect.

AD issues

They didn't fix any of the AD issues we reported during dev testing :(

I didn't follow up with the AD issues, would you mind sharing them? I am having already some issues with the local network (.local ... duhhhh) and extremely long log-ins as SL gets confused with .local....

Just trying to avoid lots of further issues and to keep track of the known bugs.

Thanks in advance.

I assume that it would run okay, however the more RAM you have the better. 2GB is cutting it a bit close depending on what programs you're running. So I think it may be safe to consider upgrading to more memory if you can. :)

Yes, late 2006 black Macbook, C2D, 2 GB of RAM runs Lion fine.

A bit off topic (but not much) but is there/will be an unofficial list of software/applications that works (or don't) with Lion, here on MR forums?

Just a thought...
