OS X Mountain Lion Up-to-Date Program doesn’t work here for my shiny new rMBP. After three or four pages of typing information like name, addresses, ID, email etc. Apple wants me indeed to…



…although I ordered my rMBP via Online Apple Store. Since I have no printer connected I tried to make a screenshot of the bill PDF provided by Apple. But the upload didn’t work (there was a symbol of an empty page with a question mark inside). I am stuck on page three of the up-to-date program.

Called Apple service and we tried something for 15 min but it didn’t work either. I told them I’ll buy ML for €15.99 right now because I have no more time for that up-to-date program. The guy said he will try to compensate the money later.

Tried to download ML: The well-known error message appears. ("Product temporarily not available. Try later.“)

Not amused.

Edit: iPhoto update works! (So I have something to do.) ;-)

steps to use up-to-date process, Have Patience, wait for the inital desperate early adopters to stop swamping the system and use lion for another day, then, Print screen shot to PDF, upload PDF, download mountain lion.

People would complain about that too. If they did that, it would likely be the US first, then slow implementation in other nations afterwords.

The current system isn't ideal, but it is definitely better than making the UK and other places wait a day or two!

Expect no one in the UK has been able to download it yet.

if Redeem code doesn't work do this...

If you did the uptodate and got a redeem code - and it says its already been used, just go back out and click on Mountain Lion, and you'll see the Purchase icon has changed to a Download icon. the code was accepted so fast, that when you clicked submit, it tried to submit again, and I'm downloading now.

I does work on other machines. I got a code for buying a new MacBook Air, but have just finished downloading on my iMac.

Still not getting it to download in the AU store, well over an hour now. While pulling my EFFing hair out I checked software update. Been stuck on checking for updates for 10 minutes now. WTF is going on? Which servers do Australians get the Apple downloads from?

Using Mountain Lion Now

I'm using Mountain right now.

Everything is working perfectly thus far.

Airplay is damn near flawless. I am streaming 1080p video from YouTube and it looks great.

Safari is awesome!!!!

I just upgraded from Lion to ML with no issues. Lightning fast upgrade. I checked software update and there were updates for iPhoto, iMovie and Pages...

How did you get the redeem code? When I follow apples online links, i only get a page that works if I'm a reseller. I'm not, having recently purchased the Retina MBP. Image attached of what I'm getting.

Anyone know if the download code that Apple provides lets you also download and install on your other Macs? If I need to buy it for my older Mac mini anyway then I might as well and not wait around for the redemption code.

I would think the Up to Date code would just add it to your App Store purchases. That seems like it would make the most sense . . .

If that's the case, it should work on all your machines that can run ML! I wouldn't waste any money yet!

No it is not that bad, it really depends where you are. I get 5mb/s up and 2mb/s down normally, which is satisfactory for me and 100GB download. At the end of 2014 we get the NBN also which would give us some of the fastest speeds in the world and ability for huge 1TB/month plans.

It seems to me the last poster is even in an unupraded area, has an out of date plan or hasn't connected their house to the proper connection here and is using splitline ADSL.

if you ordered it online im pretty sure you dont have to put anything like that in. I didn't. but maybe thats why i haven't gotten my code yet
