Had I known that I wouldn't be able to do this today then I wouldn't have gotten everything ready.

Since it looks like there are multiple posts of people getting codes fairly quickly, perhaps you'll be successful yet.

As you've no doubt figured out by now, making extensive preparations based on the assumption of immediate availability and a flawless major release from Apple is begging for frustration.

Good luck.

I've just spoken to Applecare on the phone, in the UK, about the "used code" problem

Check your Purchases tab. I got the same message (I'm in the US), but Mountain Lion showed up there and was ready for download.

It's 0845 here in the Florida Panhandle. I was able to purchase ML with no issues and download is hauling butt. Entire D/L says 20 minutes. Just checked on the progress and I'm halfway done with 10min left. :)

Error type 100? Oh well, at least it give's me time to do a Time Machine backup!

Still can not buy it (error 100). Is it a country related issue (I'm in Belgium)?

Everybody wants to bail from the S.S Lion this morning, LOL!

Downloading thankfully. See you all when we regroup on the S.S. Mountain Lion.

Completely smooth purchase / download on my 50MB cable connection here in the US - no errors, pauses, or timeouts. Took about 15 minutes, now installing on two machines.

While I'm sure the capacity issues will be resolved in a few days as my normal updates always go very quickly and smoothly, this is one of the reasons why the obsession with relying only on the Cloud and the move away from physical delivery (and the dropping of the CD/DVD recorder in the retina MBP) is insane IMO.

We think we're taking steps forward, but we're really taking steps backwards.

Would have been so much easier to stop by the Apple store, pick up a CD and load it quickly, just like we used to (or at least still have that as an option). The only thing I can say in favor of not having physical delivery is the impact on the environment.

Midnight... and time to give up.

Oh well, maybe I'll find the time again to upgrade in a week or two.

In the meantime, its icon can sit in my Launchpad, taunting me with its broken, un-purchased, but pretending-to-be-installing status.
