Seconded! And, while we're asking for pleasant surprises, when's the 17-inch Pro coming back? (I actually shouldn't be holding my breath for that, but what can I say? I've always been a fan.)

Oh my. Well, there goes that analogy. Though, crossovers and little SUVs are essentially big-body cars. I'll have to insert some other non-stupid car company name in there (unless the general public has gone mad, which is also quite possible).
The only real pro machine design is an ATX tower. This is why the trash cab was a head scratcher. It was solid for when it came out but it has very limited upgradability. The iMacs are good enough for some pro work, but that has never been the market for these since their introduction. The iMac Pro is different because it is fully loaded with power. The only thing that could improve it is an RTX GPU aside from a CPU refresh.
Apple could offer Intel’s Extreme Edition CPUs but they consider their pro desktop Macs workstations and have typically gone for Xeon/ECC RAM even though they’re honestly not necessary for most media professionals buying them. They would be leaving money on the table by offering enthusiast chips instead of Xeon W. I believe they share the same socket unlike in the past where Xeon W would’ve been an E5.
I wonder if the Mac Pro will stick with the same Xeon W chips or if they will use more expensive Xeon CPUs instead. Either way I don’t need this sort of performance.
Love these designs. I like the purple smoke one on the media invite article that was posted before this one.
I would have to agree these seem to be more "cartoonish" looking at most (not all) of the logos I would expect some sort of children's event

Well there was a live announcement at Adobes recent event. . . "Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller today made a surprise appearance at Adobe's MAX conference, which saw Adobe previewing a full version of Photoshop on the iPad, set to be released in 2019."

How likely is to have MacBook Pro freshening?
Maybe new design? CPUs? VGAs changings? A model without touch bar?
