haha... I was overdue for a change.(1) your avatar change threw me off.
(2) It really didn't bring the software I was expecting. It is really just a larger iPad. I'd like to use one before I case judgment, but I think the 9.7" version is still more practical for me. Now there is no iPad Air 3 in the year I was going to upgrade. I won't buy 2014 hardware after getting burned on the iPad 3.
I want an Air 3 with stylus input...I wonder if there will really be no October event.
Ones that had a magnetic port for charging and data transfer? There were keyboard covers for iPads and other tablets years before the Surface even existed.
I could see this, and the accessories, being the go-to option for people looking for a general use laptop in the next 3-5 years. Workstations like the 15" rMBP will obviously still be around, for those who want them. The Air line seems to be getting phased out, and the rMB brings the laptop toward the iPad versus anything else. That's most definitely mac territory price wise...
I'm still waiting for someone to tell me the pressure sensitivity levels of the pen lol surely that is the most important thing? What exactly is Pro about this iPad though? I has more speakers and supports a stylus and external keyboard. 2 of which could be fitted to any iPad and should be!
I personally like the 9" iPad and if it supported Pencil I would buy one tomorrow. It dont though so another year with no iPad for me as I only really want one for my art.
"The only thing we didn’t reinvent was the alphabet … and a slot to store your amazing new Apple Pencil."
It wouldn't need if one were the use the pencil for all interactions. I think this is a case of giving the iPhone (a much bigger seller and moneymaker) the priority for this new technology. And maybe also more difficulties in implementing this on a 13" screen on a device which pushes weight boundaries (if one were to use the original iPad as the first tablet light enough for casual use) and 3D touch very likely adds a little bit of weight.Doesn't need it. The pencil does that instead.
Underwhelmed so far. Apple Pencil (stupid name) looks pretty neat; not an innovation, but a refined, high quality version of something we've had for decades. Would have liked to see a hybrid OS X/iOS. Meh.
Yep, it got a little bit thinner and lighter (like the Air 2 did compared with the original Air).I wonder if the physical dimensions have changed any.
The keyboard definitely not, it needs the extra ports on the side of the iPad for communication and power supply. The Air 2 from last year definitely doesn't have them, and they haven't been mentioned on the Mini 4 either.Does the pen and keyboard work with the rest of the line. That's all I'm interested in?
can the iPad Pro be connected to a MBP and used as a graphic tablet like a Wacom?
haha... I was overdue for a change.
I wonder whether any pencil can ever mimic paper and pencil if it has to operated on a very smooth glass surface.I really welcome the arrival of a real stylus.
True. But a minor correction, the iPad Pro is basically a limited Surface RT.Say what you will about Apple, they can sure as hell make a damn appealing commercial. I mean the thing is basically a Surface 3 with some extra snazz, but they can make it seem like so much more.
If it could have used the new side ports (that the keyboard uses) for charging, it would have been great but maybe that connection isn't strong enough to even keep the pencil in place. The charging method for the Pencil seems a bit ridiculous.
